Jane's Walk: Green & Growing Le Plateau and QdS
MAY 2 UPDATE:
According the Ecologie Urbaine website, the event is now completely full.
Jane’s Walks are free, locally organized walking tours, in which people get together to explore, talk about and celebrate their neighbourhoods. Where more traditional tours are a bit like walking lectures, a Jane’s Walk is more of a walking conversation. Leaders share their knowledge, but also encourage discussion and participation among the walkers. These walks happen only one weekend a year.
I've wanted to join a Jane's Walk for several years, but have never been available on the weekend. Finally, schedules have aligned! I chose to join the Green & Growing: Le Plateau and Quartier des Spectacles since it has an environmental angle and gives us an opportunity to explore the neighbourhood in a new way.
From the website:
Discover hidden and unique urban agriculture and green-design initiatives in the Plateau and the Quartier des Spectacles. We will visit green roofs, urban hives, green alleys, community gardens, and other sustainable urban projects that are transforming and reinventing the urban landscape. The walk will end with a small sampling of urban honey.
YOU MUST REGISTER FOR THE WALK ON THE WEBSITE at Ecologie Urbaine.
The walk only accepts 25 people. I've limited this event to 6 so we don't swamp the tour. The event is now completely full.
