Event Details In England they celebrate Guy Fawkes/firework/ bonfire night every November 5th (since that is a Wednesday this is being held on the 2nd). It's all about remembering when Guy Fawkes and a group of rebels tried to blow up Parliament. Their stash of explosives were discovered and they were tried for treason. The British Society put on a professional firework display every year and hold a Best Guy competition. They also sell burgers and beans and toffee apples etc. The normal entry fee is E15 but they have extended the member discount to us!! I propose we meet in the Tara pub for some lunch and lubrication and head off to the venue together on tram 1. It's in Sloterpas, tram 17 also goes there.
