Adventures in Beading Written By A-L-I-S-O-N 09/07/2009 click for full size
What do you get when you combine 2 first-time beaders with 4 seasoned beaders in the basement of a Middle-Eastern café with lots of beads? You get Adventures in Beading, a wondrously creative, yet relaxing afternoon! Thanks to Laurie, Linda, Deborah, Heidi, and Kris for coming out on an otherwise bustling Labor Day weekend. It was great to take a break from the weekend chaos and get crafty.
Our creations were many and our styles were quite diverse—Linda and Laurie’s bracelets were a perfect case in point. They both worked from the same pile of beads, yet their first bracelets were so unique to each of them. Linda rocked the earth tones, while Laurie’s bracelet was sparkly with color contrast. (Check out the photos for a glimpse of some of the other creations.) To those that weren’t able to make it, we’ll be having another beading event in a few weeks. I’m aiming to make this a recurring thing. Thanks again for everyone for coming out. It was a lovely time! :-) More Photos

Love the wrap-around bracelets! I'll be sure to bring my silver coil wire so we can make some next time. :-) Yay beads! |

Thanks Alison!! What a great way to get motivated and be creative!! Can't wait for next time! I just had to go to Michael's and get some beads like Deborah had to make my own wraparound bracelet! |
