Picasso Exhibit @ Vancouver Art Gallery Written By Eunice 11/04/2005 Last night (Thurs Nov 3) a group of us went to the Vancouver Art Gallery to check out the temporary Picasso exhibit. Thurs night was specifically chosen because it's a by donation only night. First off, an apology that dinner was kinda mediocre. I’ve come to love Caffe Artigiano because they have a fantastic location on West Hastings, with great service and a varied menu. But alas the same does not apply to the Hornby location. So apologies to those who felt the dinner wasn’t quite up to snuff!! Almost everyone showed up for dinner (except for Greg … sorry if you had trouble finding us!) and we had a nice time catching up (or getting to know each other for the new folks) before heading to the gallery at 7:30. The exhibit was quite extensive, and as one person (who shall remain nameless) put it, it was worth the few dollars we donated for a change. The exhibit is composed of a lot of his sketches and a few larger paintings, but the general consensus was that it is lovely. Most of us made sure we didn't spend too much time dawdling alone as there was a very enthusiastic young lady there accosting anyone that would listen to her for a lengthy rant. Made for a bit of extra adventure at an otherwise very diginified environment. We spent a little more than an hr at the gallery and then called it a night. The long dark wet journey home for some meant an earlier night. A few of us who didn’t eat beforehand ended up at Bellagio Café across the stress afterwards. That might end up being a good dinner place for any future Art Gallery events! Hope y’all had a good time … I certainly did! :) |

Gallery Events Rule Yes I'm nuts for Gallery Events especially when it's great artists like Picasso. So glad I got to go with a bunch of like minded people :) |
