Event Hosted By Sheela Link To Event Start slideshow Victorian Tea Written By Sheela 11/05/2009 click for full size I really enjoyed the Victorian Tea at the Purple Rose Tea Room in Lawrenceville. It was a really unique experience -- the tea and atmosphere were amazing, and the presentation about Victorian clothing was very informative. I was joined by Monika, Natalie, Kathleen, Desiree (wearing a beautiful Victorian ensemble she made herself!), and Yuet. Tea was wonderful; we started by picking from a selection of unique tea blends. The tea service started with soup, which was unexpected but perfect for a fall day. We then had three tiers of delight in the form of tea sandwiches, scones and cream, and mini desserts. Then it was on to the presentation about Victorian clothing. Patti Peer dressed a mannequin from skin out and explained every layer of clothing (corsets, petticoats, and all). We then learned a bit about Victorian society as she showed us several outfits from the time period. After tea some of us headed to Monika's Artist Studio tour event, which was also a lot of fun. And yes, I'm a slacker posting pictures late -- but at least it didn't take a year for me to post them this time! More Photos
