Event Hosted By Shiraz Start slideshow UNEvent Rocks Cafe Asia Written By Shiraz 04/04/2005 click for full size WE ROCKED CAFE ASIA: About 40 people signed up for the unevent and man was I worried or what! How was I going to get keep them entertained all night??? Well I shouldn't have worried knowing MeetinDc, we keep ourselves entertained 24/7 man, no biggie! I called the manager at Cafe Asia, such a sweet girl. She had an area roped for us at the front bar and did we feel special or what. Trust me you should have seen the looks we were getting from the "not so special" peeps ;) The "Haider Happy Hour" as the flyers on the bar said, started early with Crystal and Amanda being the first to arrive (talk about enthusiasm or appetite?), before the start time may I add while I was still at work ;) Before I go on to tell the story of how Sameer went crazy with the camera, Shree challenged me to a Tennis match, people kept arriving, the beer was flowing, everywhere there was colorful sushi to be seen etc etc, I feel that there is a need to explain what an UN-Event is. Prateek asked, "is it a United Nations event?" Well my dear man, you could say that, there were quite a few nationalities present, although I would not say that Cafe Asia's front bar would be international territory ;) To me, and this is entirely personal, an UNEvent (UN-Event) is an event that never happened ;) and considering that it is posted on the Events Board, it means it had to happen otherwise it wouldn't be there, right? Right! Yes I am confused too ;) How about if I just say that an unevent is a get-together of Meetin peeps, where you are allowed to do anything, including RSVP and not show up, show up without an RSVP, show up at anytime including before the event time, mix and mingle with anyone in the vicinity, bring your own peeps, flirt away and over all have a great time. Now if this isn't clear enough, contact me directly, we will head over to Cafe Asia, have us some sushi, some sake and discuss this in detail until we are very very happy ;))) Enjoy the show! Dana	sushi--mmm Thanks Sana. You rock. As my photo clearly shows, i was dead tired but dragged myself out there and as always had a blast with this great crew. The sushi was yummy and my Sam Adams White beer was just $2! Sweeeet.
