Event Hosted By Mary Link To Event Start slideshow December Games Night Written By Mary 12/06/2008 click for full size Thanks so much to Eric who came out and shared his knowledge of astrology with us, it helped with the turn out. Over 20 members of Meetin and Couchsurfing attended and joined in the fun. We had the usual good eats with the addition of both white and red wine. We managed to make do with my games supply as neither Nathan or Sue, (the board game king and queen) came, who generally bring along their games. I've had a few FAQ's asked about the event, so I'll put the answers here. Is there parking? Yes there is on the street parking if you are lucky enough to find it, or there are 2 parking lots outside my building. Keep in mind this is downtown on a Friday night and prices in the lots change according to events going on in the ACC or Rogers Centre. I am a new member, can I come? Yes, all members can sign up for any event, that is what Meetin is all about. This is a great event for new members as it is not only playing games, but sitting and chatting or eating or drinking is a by-product of the evening. I am 21, will I be the only young person there? No, the people who generally come out to the event are both younger and older members. Meetin events can be specific to an age group if the host wants it, but we all seem to get along no matter what our age. What can I bring? Bring along your fun side. Members have brought all kinds of food, such as cookies, candy, chocolate, veggie platters, fruit, dips, chips, crackers, cheese, spring rolls, cake, pop, water, nuts, tuna salad, bread, pita, and many other snack foods. On occasion we have wine, or beer, but we must be discreet about that due to the non alcohol rule of the space. Bring along your games. I own a few games, but they can get boring if they are the only games we have. Variety is always better. Hope that help you make a decision for next month. More Photos
