Camping and Hiking in Haliburton Written By Mona 07/03/2007 click for full size Sunday we split in two groups - canopy tour and canoeing (and, oops, the non-planned swimming :-)). I went on the canopy tour but before that we stopped at the Wolf Centre. There were 11 wolves in semi-captivity and a very cute little cub. The Wolf Centre is very nicely done, with lots of information about wolves. As for the canopy tour, I will let you enjoy the pictures. It was a fun experience! Sunday night there were fireworks by the lake and then the party continued around the camp fire (for some people). Monday was the day to pack and come home. Thank you, all for a great trip, good times and memories. One terrific weekend! Wow, what a fantastic event! Camping, daily off-road driving to our campsites, hiking, bear & wolf watching, canopy walk, canoeing, kayaking, sightseeing, fireworks, swimming in the lake (albeit sometimes unintended), playing with the well-behaved and ostensibly always hungry Jack Russell Terrier, wood chopping, sharing food & great stories around the campfire—you can’t squeeze more into a weekend! I met great people and had interesting discussions which expanded my knowledge of several intriguing topics, including diverse cultures, religions and even law enforcement. And I also appreciate the rap performance which was my first (pity it was so short!). Thank you, Mona, for organizing this wonderful event.
