From TBW... 529 Scallops found at this years Great Bay Scallop Search! Over 220 volunteers and 42 boats and kayaks came out on Saturday, August 18th to scour the Bay for scallops. The scallops' sensitivity to changes in water quality, makes it an excellent indicator of our Bay's water quality. Just 17 and a half scallops were found last year, making the 529 sighted this year, a staggering increase in numbers! Thank you to all of the volunteers who donated their time for this event! |

Why of course... We found 6 but the group as a whole found 529! Last year they found 17 total so it's a great testament to the improvement of the water quality in the area. We had a great time! Thanks to everyone who showed up. |
