What would we like to do?
Everyone has been mentioning that there is nothing going on with this group...what would people like to do?
In the past, the events that seemed to gather more people were the ones that involved either eating or drinking (bigger draw on the drinking).
So what would people like to do? Want to start planning something for New Years? Want to wait till after the holidays? Want to get something going before Christmas?
I know that we all have been hit by the events in our lives, not to mention the lack of $$$. Something can be done to get people out and meeting eachother again cant it?
Anyone know of anything going on that they are interested in going to but dont know people to go with? Anything going on that you are going to anyway and want to throw it out there to get other people to go?
Want to just get together for breakfast on Sunday? A cup of coffee to meet other people? A book club? Grab a pizza? All it takes is posting it...

Thanks
Thanks again Bob, I was just thinking about putting it on Craigs List for a little more exposure. Your ad is great, I may have to steal a couple of pointers!!!!

A couple things to try -
1. Post your group to craigslist once or twice a week to try to get some new people involved. Here's the one I do for Phoenix, of course do whatever you think will work. I know a lot of ppl have gone to Meetup but, some complain about their front page not having the info ours does on it so I take that slant :)
2. If you do go to an event, take pictures and post them on the site, even if it's only a couple people. It helps if the main picture changes frequently.
3. Get a couple people in your group to message new members about upcoming events. They get a standard 'Welcome' e-mail when they join but they tend to get more involved if an actual person contacts them.
4. If someone posts an event, sign up for it!
5. Keep trying! :)
6. Go Cards! ok that's not really an event tip :)

Events
I just thought about this group this morning and I'm glad to see you are trying to get it up and running again. I will do whatever I can to help.
Let's plan events!

Ideas?
I know that meeting new friends can be intimidating, so how about tiki type places.

Dunno
Hi Michelle
I think it's just a matter of posting some stuff and seeing what happens. The problem is the first few months it'll pretty much be the organizer and one or two showing up until the word gets out. So...... everyone..... if you're planning on doing something any weeknight or weekend, just post it and see if another one or two will join you. Before you know it we might be able to get this thing started again.
We had a decent group going at one time and I know it's frustrating when nobody responds but what can ya do?
