Event Hosted By Jennifer Laura Start slideshow Night @ Retama Park Written By Jennifer 06/16/2007 click for full size It was 50 Cent Friday at Retama Park last night and MiSA came out for an (almost) FREE night at the races! Free admission, 50 cent hot dogs, 50 cent sodas and MOST importantly, DOLLAR BEER!!!!!!! Unfortunately, our event host Tim wasn't able to make it due to an emergency at work, but the rest of us had a blast. Laura, Carolyn and Myra were the first to arrive and had already placed their bets on a couple of races when Rachel and I showed up around 8ish. Laura and Carolyn were the only two among us who felt lucky enough to place bets on the horses, while the rest of us placed bets without actually placing the bets (read--we didn't fork over any dough) The most exciting race had to be race number 8. Evidently the horses were feeling frisky because the top two horses, Make Me Streak and Black Moon, were disqualified before the race even started for ditching their riders. Time for Plan B since most of us had placed our bets on these two horses. Second choice for the group, Corona, ended up winning the race. Let me tell you, when the horse you picked wins, you really wish you'd actually placed a bet. Oh well! A great time was had by all! Laura	Thank you! Hey all! I had a wonderful time with all of you at the races! I have never been to horse racing, so it was all new to me! But, thanks to Carolyn who showed me how to place a bet, I started talking like I've been betting on horses all my life-LOL! Now I know what to expect the next time I go-and yes, I want to go back in September to bet on the Thorough breds-that will be exciting! Tim, sorry you could not make it, and I was happy to take over as your contact person! There is always next time! Thank you all for a great time!
