Wine Tasting @ Bell Mountain Vineyards Written By Jennifer 05/20/2007 click for full size
A great time was had by all at the Bell Mountain Vineyards outside Fredericksburg on Saturday... that is, once we all got there! Jennifer was the first one to get there, with members Laura, Adrianna and their friend Caroline arriving later. They took the scenic route. ;)
Once everybody got there, we headed inside and were treated to free wine tasting by Evelyn, Bell Mountain's resident wine connoiseur (sp?). We tasted several different types of wine. The first one we tried was a chardonnay, which is a dry and fruity white wine. Then we moved onto the rieslings, which are more sweet than the chardonnay. A group favorite was the Liebchen, which is a mixture of riesling and other white wines. Another big hit was the rose of cabernet, which is a lighter red wine. After our wine tasting, we took a tour of the winery and learned how wine was made, from harvesting to bottling. We then made it back to the tasting room and made our purchases. Thanks to all of you for coming out and much thanks to Evelyn for being such a wonderful hostess! More Photos
