Event Details The weather has turned cold and I crave good company, good wine and hot steamy home made soup! Last year soup nights were very popular. Tonight is Soup #4! 1. Smoked Salmon Chowder 2. SW Peperjack and Corn Chowder 3. Vegan pho' 4. Taco Soup w/ cream cheez n rollz - Tonight's soup! Sorry vegetarians. I love you guys but I love this soup!!! The idea behind the tradition: Twice a month, I gather ingredients and we cook at my place. Everybody brings wine/beer and anything else they wish to share to go with the soup. I make a HUGE pot of soup which is always enough for you to take home a serving. (This year I will provide some take home containers so everybody gets an equal amount.) I also provide some different breads/or appropriate side for dipping. The cost of the event is the cost of the ingredients only. Last year we managed to keep the price around 5 or less. Each soup night will have a recipe posted and a suggested beverage. Please check for food allergies. If you can't eat what is in tonight's soup, you will probably be able to eat the next one. This year I am doing 5 regular, 5 vegan, and 5 vegetarian. (most vegan and vegetarian soups will have some meats on the side for us carnivore types!) Tonight's beverage suggestion - Well... last year I wanted to do margaritas. I made a last min. decision to go with a different cocktail. This year I am sticking with my instinct and going with the tequila favorite! We can make em virgin for our non drinking guests. This is a flake intolerant event. I shop a day or 2 in advance for the head count on my guest list. Please be respectful of other guests, If I buy for 10 and only 5 show up, the cost of the ingredients per person goes up! A few other points to remember: This is in my home so I expect that you have met me in person before you RSVP. (Or at least be coming with somebody who has already been to soup night) I have a cat. She sheds!!! Nuff said!!! (She likes everybody but Alfredo,but we have faith that she will warm up to him eventually... LOL! ) OK so the deal with this soup... there is no recipe, it's just a big pot of goodness. hamburger meat cooked with taco seasoning stewed tomatoes tomato paste onion butter kidney beans corn garlic salt n pepper Fresh rolls with cream cheez on the side.
