    Your Interests
I enjoy live music - especially when I discover a great new artist; movies; taking walks; hiking and camping; checking what's around the next bend in the road - particularly if there happens to be a roadside oddity; watching football - especially college - or soccer; brewpubs; crosswords. A good book can snag my attention for hours. I'm also hooked on a few TV shows but it doesn't kill me to miss them. I especially like having a gang of folks to hang out with.
    Favorite Music
I'll just list some favorite artists, in no particular order: The Alternate Routes, Clumsy Lovers, Carbon Leaf, Stephen Kellogg & the Sixers, Dean Martin, Andy Davis, Sting, Ryan Adams, David Gray, Jason Mraz, Martina Sorbara, Matt Nathanson, Big Head Todd and the Monsters, Jamie Cullum, Coldplay, 311, Green Day, James Taylor, Bob Schneider, Guster, Kasey Chambers, Old 97's...
    Favorite Books
Mysteries! Though I enjoy a good romantic comedy or drama as well. Goes right along with movies I like... I'm a huge Tolkien fan - I've read LOTR a half dozen times or more. Another favorite book, Watership Down by Richard Adams - fantastic. I especially like a book where the characters are well drawn. I like to get into it and feel it all with them, or laugh out loud. Fave authors besides already those listed: Michael Connelly, Jane Austin, Sharon Kay Penman, Barbara Kingsolver, William Least Heat-Moon (Blue Highways), Steve Martin (Shopgirl), Lorna Landvik, Stephen King...
    Favorite TV Shows
Amazing Grace is my current favorite. I have a great pal who TiVos it for me. House, Monarch of the Glen, CSI: Las Vegas, Bones, Fawlty Towers... I catch my shows when I catch them, but I just canceled my cable. It's pretty rare for me to have the TV on.
    Favorite Movies
Grumpy Old Men, Bridget Jones Diary, anything James Bond, Whale Rider, The Cooler, Amelie, Smoke Signals, Waking Ned Devine, Pee Wee's Big Adventure, I Am Sam, The Princess Bride, Pride and Prejudice (the 6 hour long version), High Fidelity...

    About Me
The most obvious (or obnoxious) thing about me is that I'm a loud chatterbox. Blah, blah, blah, blah! I don't like to sit around at home much; I'd rather be out enjoying all there is to enjoy. I'm a beer snob, preferring American craft beers - I like malt over hops. I'm a super-klutz. I'm a western girl by birth and at heart - I love the desert and the mountains. I have no problem with getting grubby now and then. I hate humidity and spiders.
    Why I joined
I love meeting new people. I'm also not much of a homebody. I like to get out and DO things. MiPGH seemed an excellent way to meet new people and have a lot of fun, and it is! The neatest folks I've met since I got to da 'Burgh I've met directly or indirectly through MEETin.
My Best MEETin event story ( please only fill in after you have been to an event )
Do I really have to choose? I've only been to about 300 events! Okay, a few standouts - my first event at the Maize in Boise, camping in Elk County PA, going to Punxsutawney for Groundhog Day - twice, brewery tour trips to Harrisburg and Pottsville PA, Pennsylvania Brewers Fest, Beer & Gear during Whitewater Rafting weekends, East End Brewery Keg Rides...

Even if I did this, I just have to do it again...Kimmy is wonderful, beautiful...just such a great gypsy soul...I am so glad to get to know her better...she always has a smile and it's contageous...thank you for being you!!

My first testimonial for Kim was written nearly a year ago. A lot has happened since then; so a NEW tribute is only fitting. Where to begin…where to begin…OK - My admiration, respect, and my love for her has grown. So much, it truly has made me a better person. I still believe time spent with Kim is like taking an instant vacation. She is full of so much JOY and SMILES!! With an intelligent and gentle mind, you can’t help but be taken in by her grace and charm. Conversations with her can be so fascinating and interesting you walk away with your brain aching for more. There are many people that we meet in our lives. But only a very few will make a lasting impression on our minds and hearts. It is these people that we will think of often and who will always remain important to us as true friends. She needs no introduction; her smile will light up any room. If you haven’t met her yet, what are you waiting for? :o)

    <-( Colleen says ;-)
I simply adore this gal! Now gal is NOT a word I use, but she does and I love that wholesome mid-west dialect. I normally enjoy hanging out with men since there is a “no drama” environment, but not with Kim, she is NO drama, only “BOUNCE.” Kim has a magnetic personality and I was drawn to her energy immediately. When I helped her move last year, I really knew she was my kindred spirit with her varied collections of stuff. We have bonded in other areas amongst other things. We tried to outdo each other over Groundhog’s Day in a motel room sharing puke stories, much to the demise of Tom and Gary. Tee hee! I’m always amazed how she can fit in hearing new music, movies and anything else hip. I think she is getting more than our standard 24 hours to accomplish all this.

    <-( Amy says ;-)
Who exactly is Kim? Well, if one happens to research what her name means as I did, one would find the following: a royal fortress meadow, a forest, a beautiful story, a picture of benevolence, golden, bold, and bright. WOW, who could ever imagine that her parents named her correctly (even if her dad calls me Kim and her Amy sometimes, hahahaha)!?!?! Kim is a lot of things to a lot of people; but to me, she is my former neighbor now roommate, my doppelganger, my music pal, my fellow beer snob, my footie (aka soccer) loving pal, my fellow bluestocking, and most of all, I’m lucky to call her my friend! :-)

    <-( Gordon says ;-)
If Kim were an extension cord, she would be an orange, heavy duty, 50-footer with no ground. She's hard to miss, high voltage, extends herself further than most, and is ocassionally shocking.

    <-( Jennifer says ;-)
Ah Kim! I'm glad I've gotten to know her a little better, and I think her chatterboxiness is one of her best qualities (which I am so fortunate as to share). Glad you're in the neighborhood so we can overdose on D's (is that possible?!).

    <-( Jenn says ;-)
Kim (my fellow one-eyed kittycat owner) is so much fun and full of energy!! I'm glad I met her, and have to say its a pretty safe bet that events where Kim is present are sure to be a blast!

    <-( drew says ;-)
kim, what can i say?...i mean really what can i say?...hmmm. lets see you bullied me into being your friend like arnold's bully ,"the gootch",on 'different strokes' and since then its been instant like. plus your the only person i know who can stir a dip with both hands and steady the bowl with her feet...reminded me of this gymnast i used to see occasionally...when she didnt travel with the carnival. but anyway, here is your testimonial

    <-( Rebecca says ;-)
Ahhh, my pal Kim. What can be said that hasn't already?! She is full of amazing and positive energy that draws out the best in eveyone around her. Vivacious spirit, vibrant dress and vigorous laughter- just a few of the reasons I'm so glad to consider her a friend.

    <-( Chad says ;-)
As long as she isn't creeping me out with tales of VW sized spiders, Kim can talk about whatever she wants and I'll listen. Beer. The best ways to bounce. Music beyond WYEP. Beer. Highways through Western vistas and roasting chili haze. Soccer and beer. And...of course...super powers. She is one funkydancinghatwearingbigsmilin' tornado of fun!

    <-( Cyd says ;-)
Oh my, how did I miss giving Kim a testimonial? The life of the party, the fizz in the bubble, the pop in the soda, the icing on the cupcake - that's Kim. Not too long ago I was at an event where Brian said something like, "That's just Kim getting her Kim on." Nothing could describe her better. If you're new and you're unsure about this group just introduce yourself to Kim. You'll be hooked!

    <-( Mary says ;-)
I finally had the opportunity to meet up with Kim and as her testimonials state, she is A LOT of fun to be around. Her constant smiles, laughter, and genuine personality truly says it all. Being around her is like taking an instant vacation!!

    <-( theresa says ;-)
I met Kim for the first time at the Lawrenceville Photography Stroll. She was so friendly and amazingly chipper. I can't imagine anyone not liking her or wanting to be around her. She's a trip!!

    <-( Tom says ;-)
This testimonial is very much long overdue. Kim is an absolute blast to be around. She's always on the go, full of energy and does her best to make sure those around her are having a good time. She's turned me into a beer snob, but that's been a great new experience. You'll always have fun when you're around her, and she'll make it easy for you to try things that you've never done before. I am fortunate to have her as a friend.

    <-( Maaz says ;-)
Kim always plans the most fun events! No matter what it is, you're guaranteed to have fun as long as Kim is there! She's the type of person who just likes everyone and is always willing to be your friend whether you have a lot in common or not. She's also very helpful in accomodating people!

    <-( Barry says ;-)
I think it's actually impossible to be around Kim and NOT have a good time.

    <-( Jerrod says ;-)
Hmmmm, what can I possibly say that hasn't already been said? Kim definitely brings a lot of energy to her events and to others. I more appreciate her huge diversity of interests and her discriminating taste in beers. I most appreciate that she is an understanding person and a good friend to have.

    <-( Madelaine says ;-)
Kim is just a fire ball of energy no matter what is going on. No amount of beer could ever cool her enthusiasm, and that's the way it should be....

    <-( Rick says ;-)
Kim is such a fun spirited person you have no choice but to smile and enjoy life whenever she is around. I'll def miss her when she packs up and moves the hug patrol out west! love ya kimmie : )

    <-( Ross says ;-)
Kim is an excellent event planner and hostess. She has always made me feel welcome at events. Also, I have never seen her without a smile on her face! :) :)
