Wandering the lanes of the Homewood Cemetery

There is a very large Chinese section

Angel

Beautiful monument art

Against the fall color

Mayura and an Egyptian pyramid

To give you some perspective on the pyramid's actual size...

I think I belong here.

Another Egyptian-themed crypt

Adding a bit of spook to our wanderings: crows.

And more crows.

And still more crows.

I did go back and spent 3 hours snapping dozens of photos. I was mostly all alone the whole time, it was just as beautiful an evening as it was the day before. I got a map and a self guided tour flier from the office, the lady there was trying to sell me a plot! I found Heinz, Frick and Mellon all in sec 14, its the one that the pyramid is in. Kim thanks for that it was a memorable event. I am going back there for sure.

Too funny. It was a great time - also my first time there, but now I will have to go back and find Andrew Carnegie's grave.

Who took this photo if there were only three of you on the hike? The main shot is apparently taken from the ground up...c-r-e-e-p-y!

Despite what you said, "It's not a Halloween, scary thing," I did note the Hitchcock-ian touch to the last few photos! ;-) I like cemetery settings, too.

Homewood Cemetery is one of the Hidden wonders of the burgh. Andrew Carnegie is buried there. Great place to do a photo tour.
