Boogie Hustlers at The Altar Written By Kim 02/05/2009 click for full size The opening act, the Ben Alper Trio (though I think it was only a duo), was a pleasant opener with some good originals and fun covers. They covered 311 which made my night. The Trio(duo) was followed by former Rusted Roots member, Jenn Wertz. Great vocals, some grit - I definitely recommend a listen. But of course, it was The Boogies were were there to see! And they lived up our expectations and then some. I think the weather kept a lot of folks at home that night, but for those who braved the snow, thanks for enjoying the evening with me. Can't wait to Boogie again! And a note on the venue... It's great to see live music coming back to that locale. It's a pretty good place to see a small show. Plenty of room for dancing, a nice big bar with to-be-expected pricing on drinks, and for better or worse, very distracting large screen TVs (of the projector variety) showing silhouettes of scantily clad women moving in a very provocative manner. Hopefully their bookings will grow and we'll be able to catch a few more good live shows. More Photos
