Nationality Rooms Holiday Open House Written By Sara 12/09/2008 click for full size
Everyone had a great time touring the Nationality Rooms at Pitt's Cathedral of Learning on Sunday afternoon! We met up at the Starbucks on Craig St and walked over together. Colleen had the inside tip that we should start up on the 3rd floor, since everyone else tended to start on the 1st. We did a pretty good job sticking together as a group until we got to the Early American room. By that time, it was getting way too crowded and our group was a little too large to keep us all together.
We also got to enjoy delicious ethnic foods, singing and dancing. The Greek folklore dancers were really amazing. Around 2PM, we all congregated one last time to say goodbye and move on to our next activities. Seeing all of the rooms decorated for the holidays and the docents in costume was a real treat. THANKS to Colleen for organizing the event! (She forgot her camera, so I volunteered to do the write-up for her.) :-) More Photos

Thanks Colleen for organizing it I enjoyed the tour. Learned few things about Christmas celebration in different countries and got to eat some delicious snacks/desserts. I might check out the rooms again soon when it is not as crowded. |
