Event DetailsPLEASE NOTE NEW TIME (11:30 START TIME NOW) John will be in charge this week cause I have a hike to attend so he gets to pick whatever rules he wants to incorporate... Like the blitz factor or trading during breaks or whatever In case the weather looks questionable, check back an hour before the event to see if the game has been canceled. Typically, the only thing that would cancel a game would be heavy rain/lightning or extreme cold or heat. If you are new to Frisbee and want the hosts' cell phone numbers or if you need directions, just send us a message. We've been getting together once (sometimes twice) a week to play a co-ed (that means "boys and girls,") game of Ultimate Frisbee. And we ain't stoppin' anytime soon. It's not about the competition, and we don't take it all that seriously. It's just a fun bunch of people who are out to get some exercise, maybe fall down a few times and have a good time. For those of you who aren't familiar with what Ultimate Frisbee is, check out the link above: Ultimate in Ten Simple Rules That'll give you the gist. We're not sticklers for the rules, but checking out that link will give you the general idea of how it's done. Come on out. Run around. Sweat. Have fun! Please bring a light shirt (preferably white) and a dark shirt (preferably black). That way, it'll be easier to tell who's on each team. Some people choose to wear cleats, which is fine - just no metal spikes! IMPORTANT: If you're looking for a serious and competitive event, you're looking in the wrong place. This is all about getting some exercise and having fun with good people. Anyone who gets outta hand will be asked to leave. Note the 10th rule from the above link: Spirit of the Game -- Ultimate stresses sportsmanship and fair play. Competitive play is encouraged, but never at the expense of respect between players, adherence to the rules, and the basic joy of play. Get it? Got it? Good. So, bring your energy, your positive attitude, your sense of humor and good sportsmanship to Schenley Park on Saturday for a friendly game of Ultimate. Seeya there! Kids can play as long as they are okay playing with the adults. This event is for MEETin members ONLY. MEETin members may bring guests. |
