Bay-to-Breakers 12K

Great time in San Francisco! Karen, Betty, Jeanna and Lynn travelled to SFO for a weekend visit with our exiles; Tai & Austin and Erin now living in Berkeley and East Bay. They were wonderful hosts, taking us to George Lucas's creative complex @The Presidio. We got to see the Yoda fountain and peek in the windows of the Star Wars geniuses. We gathered with other MiSF peeps for "carb loading" dinner @Fellini's on Saturday evening and dessert at Au Coquellette.

Race day Sunday, we debated taking the ferry across the bay but drove instead. Good choice. The coordination of our arrivals to "run" together was unsuccessful but we did all make the race and found most of our group during the walk with a complete gathering at the after party "Footstock." The weather was decent in the 60's warming to 70's and cooling back down at race end. We took about 2 and half hours to walk the 12K distance. Footstock attendance was down due to overcast and breezy conditions, convincing most racers to leave the polo field just after 12:00pm. The Muni bus ticket for a ride back to the starting line where we parked the car turned out to be our only dissappointment. Traffic really sucked. I think we could have made better time walking home. The entertainment value however was watching all the over-indulged racers stagger home along all the streets of San Francisco. Thank goodness we weren't THOSE people, even if they did make better time than the bus. Erin and her crew did take a different path and they actually got home before we were released from muni-bus-prison. Good thing we had no time crisis on flights out. The rest of the trip was smooth yet crowded.

I still love this race and the next time maybe we can make even more of a weekend out of it. San Francisco peeps made the trip twice as fun. Thanks yo.

Editor's Note: Fuzzy Blue Airbrush "covers" added for the body-phobic that couldn't deal with "strategic white boxes." Yes, it was a nude body children, it wasn't sex or war.

blue bikinis
Did you get your hand slapped again for your little white/black appropriately placed squares? Blue blob bikinis are better? I'm here for ya with the creative Photoshop editing techniques. :-)

Lots of fun!
OK, so it's more of a party than a race :) The entire weekend was a blast! It was great to meet the MiSF folks and have a group to walk with during the race. I'm looking forward to going again...definitely for the 100th anniversary!

Looks like a ton of fun!
That does look like a ton of fun...should make a whole extended weekend out of it next time. Might get more people to come just to hang out for the weekend.
