    Why I joined
Trying to be positive and keep the faith that there are nice, congenial people in this area who are open to meeting people outside of their defined circles!
My Best MEETin event story ( please only fill in after you have been to an event )
I've been in MEETin for just over a year now and so many events have been unbelievably fun. The first big event I attended was camping in Shenandoah and this was the most amazing trip -- campfires, scuffles with military men, rope swings, and insanely non-sexual discussion (shout out to JLo!). Dance nights are great because you get to have fun, know people there, and when skeevy guys come up to you, you can just signal to a MiDC guy and they'll swoop in to cover you! I've enjoyed all the Girls' Nights in/out I've hosted because they have allowed me to bond with the girls w/o having those pesky men around! ;-) New Year's Eve was the best New Year's I have ever had! Debate's at Mikey's have been interesting and informative while the regular DC Friday lunches have been a much needed break from work. Oh and we have to throw in the sports from either playing soccer and picnic games to watching MLS or NFL (go EAGLES!). My friend commented to me the other day that she thought I had grown up a lot in the past year and she attributed that to my involvement in the group: from meeting people of all walks of life even my open-mind was opened more! Thanks to everyone that has challenged me along the way!

I am extremely behind in my testimonials. Sibel was already a legend when I joined MEETin. She was and still is one of the best event planners in DC. She is as cool as she is beautiful as she is smart. She was the "class" before me but others spoke of her so often I felt honored when I finally had the chance to meet her. (And I am sure I tried a little too hard to befriend her at the dance club:-) If you're lucky, you will be able to catch one of her events and meet her in person.

Ok, so here goes testimonial #237 for one of the best and brightest of MIDC!! A girl that fine lookin' should not be able to earn the cool points of bein' a football-loving fanatic... I mean, us guys think that's our fantasy girl - BUT, Sibel: I don't think the ladies will be too enamored!! Ha, ha.... Seriously - one of the friendliest and most knowledgable of the MIDC vets that I've met to date. A great host, and a lot of fun to throw the frisbee with after gorging ourselves on ice cream (although she did almost give a guy an unwelcome "shave" with that disc!!).... Looking forward to co-hosting some "foosball" events with ya girl... Cheers!

    <-( Carmel says ;-)
The indisputable belle of MiDC, Sibel is fun personified. She's got versatile interests, she's goal-oriented, she's driven, she's not afraid to show her emotions (unfortunately, I wasn't as moved by Puccini as she and Dana were) or express herself. She's definitely one of the people one must meet and I look forward to hanging out with her more in the future, esp. when she posts another Girls' Night Out.

    <-( Khadija says ;-)
Sibel is a outgoing woman and definitely the life of the party. She knows how to party and is cool to hang around with.

    <-( Georg says ;-)
Every time I am out of town for a few weeks I realize how much I miss this girl! Sibel is just the personification of positive energies, kindness, and a big smile. We all love her calls for study groups, parties, and the occasional DC United game (viva the European heritage!). How fitting that "Sibel" means "powerful queen"!

    <-( Karl says ;-)
It's clear why Sibel the Belle is a popular Meetin Maven-- she carries herself with that little bit of grace that makes a person attractive and is also willing to do math at sporting events. A real pleasure to meet.

    <-( Katherine says ;-)
Sibel epitomizes city-savvy, the type who can walk into any scene and suddenly own it… but she is also down-to-earth, intelligent, and very kind. She has the rare ability to be a girly-girl one day and down and dirty the next! And her “girls night in”s and “girls night out”s are the best!

    <-( Christine says ;-)
Sibel is a very cool girl; she’s vivacious, funny, always the life of the party. She hosted my first event, a girls’ night in, so she’s the first meetin person I got to know. Sibel is not afraid to express her views/ opinions even when she’s in minority, and I truly respect her for that. Look fwd to doing more stuff together!

    <-( Enrique says ;-)
What can be said about Sibel that has not been said? She is a fab-u-lous lady that can definitely hold her own with grace and style. There is more than meet the eye; she is a more in-depth and wondrous person. She has layers, but not like onions, rather it is more like parfait, very sweet. She is a hopeful romantic, which is great in this wide wicked world. No matter how much is thrown at her she just gets up, dust herself off, and go at it again. She has deep well of strength that she can tap into and that makes her a survivor. Her fragility is her strength, which in turn gives her more confidence in tackling the world. She has a definite positive and optimistic eye. Moreover, she has a humble humility, a genuine person that does not hide behind any mask or façade. She shows her heart and makes no false pretense. A definite inner beauty that glows within and without. She is a brave person and somebody to be admired; a truly remarkable person. Sibel, I am waiting for my first payment. ;)

    <-( Katie says ;-)
Well, I had heard a lot of bad things about Sibel from Aarthi here in Chicago, but luckily, none of them were true! Kidding! I had an awesome time hanging out with you at the convention- did you ever stop dancing? I thought that you might go down for the count Sat night, but as soon as the party got started you perked right up- that's the sign of a trooper (and a Philly girl)! EAGLES BABY!

    <-( Abe says ;-)
Well just meeting her briefly I can tell tell that Sibel has a good aura about her. I met her at my first event in DC and She is friendly, laid back, and cool. This girl is also a great dancer and sexy to boot. Need I say more :)

    <-( Nicole says ;-)
Sibel, Sibel, Sibel......what can I say. She is one of the first people we met in DC, and by far one of the absolute coolest. Girl, you have such a fun vibe, and such great energy!!! If you dont know Sibel, you are seriously missing out on one of the most genuine and sweet people involved in MeetIn. Thank you for everything Sibel, you ROCK!!!!!!

    <-( Varol says ;-)
I'm proud to say that Sibel is a fellow country-woman. She's extremely friendly, and I hear that she is quite the tiger on the dance floor. Look forward to getting to know you better girl.. and you will be fluent in Turkish by the time I'm through with you ;-)

    <-( Emily says ;-)
I admire Sibel's combination of positive energy, feminine beauty, and chutzpah. And she always supports me in my DJ endeavors which I appreciate very very much!

    <-( Hilary says ;-)
It was great to meet Sibel at the DC Convention, she's a blast to hang out with! She helped prevent me from getting lost in the Arlington environs and really went the extra mile to make me feel welcome at the events. Glad to know her!

    <-( Jason says ;-)
Sibel is one of a line of great meetin dancers. I had no idea this group had so many people who cut such a nasty rug! Good at karaoke too. So much talent! :)

    <-( Willie says ;-)
Sibel is a vixen! Oh, but there's SO much more! She is one FANTASTIC dancer and can sing like a star "You went to HOLLYWOOD, BABY!" That's what Randy would say! I, on the other hand, don't care that she can sing, dance, OR about the indisputable fact that she is Gorgeous beyond human comprehension - What I want you to know is that her personality is AWESOME! She is ALWAYS lively and so damn much fun to be around. Her smile lights up the darkest room, and one can't help but to be totally taken by who she is. Sibel, YOU are definitely part of what MeetIn, MeetIn. You ARE the Greatest! Keep Floatin like a Butterfly, and Singin like a... Um, I can't think of a good finish. To be continued........

    <-( W. Dana says ;-)
Wow, has it already been a year since I first met Sibel? While this testimonial is long overdue, time has given me the opportunity to appreciate all the amazing qualities that make Sibel such a valuable part of MEETin. From her off-the-wall but entertaining (and sometimes drunk) postings as "Queen of the Message Boards," to livening crazy house parties, to tubing down a river in a thunderstorm, to letting it loose in Vegas, on New Year's Eve, and in Philly, little did I know that this bubbly personality I first met at a Dremo's Happy Hour would accompany me through much of my own MEETin adventure. While she can be a real Turkey at times (such as not letting me into her girls night in/out events), she's incredibly smart and has led a fascinating life so far. She's a prime example of the MEETin spirit and with her with a warm heart and glowing smile welcomes everyone to her unique and interesting events. She rocks at karaoke and makes a great dance partner for everything from '80s anthems to slow Clapton ballads. Through thick and thin I'll always have indelible memories of Sibel as part of my MEETin story. Great knowing you for the past year and I look forward to many more!

    <-( Jared says ;-)
Sibel, Sibel, Sibel - what more can I say than what knockout! I mean, she's got killer attitude, a couple of classes away from an MBA, and style out the Wazzu - a very dangerous combination! She is the life of the party but somehow she's always the girl next door as well. If your ever in the dumps, just call Sibel and she will show you how to hit the town right!
