Event DetailsTime to do some urban exploring and try out some Russian cuisine. This one is in the Snowdon area - outside of the madhouse of the Grand Prix weekend. From Montrealplus.ca: Restaurant Ermitage offers a taste of Russian hospitality alongside its rich and hearty menu. Established in 1998, Ermitage has since offered an enormous variety of Russian dishes, satisfying both the curiosity and appetites of its patrons. A lovely white room with white tablecloths and decoratively folded napkins, Ermitage has an attractive décor. Simple flowers decorate the tables, and warm lighting shows off portraits on the walls. The welcome is warm, the service effective and professional, and the food exceptionally interesting. Russian cuisine is well known the world over for its fine gourmet specialties prepared with Eastern European panache. Restaurant Ermitage invites its diners to discover exactly what Mother Russia has to offer. An extensive menu is complemented by a selection of over a dozen varieties of vodka, sure to complete the Russian dining experience. Restaurant Ermitage offers an extensive menu made up of about 200 dishes. Choices range from the well-known Kiev chicken, to Russian style-salmon and sturgeon, cabbage rolls and bison kebabs. Of exceptional value is their gastronomic menu for two. Diners begin with smoked fish and then move on to a choice of soups. After cleansing their palates with sorbet drenched in vodka, they enjoy a succulent main course. This generous meal is topped off by rich fruit and cheese crepes. The portions are generous, and one leaves Ermitage well satisfied. The Hour has a review of this restaurant from a few years ago: http://www.hour.ca/food/food.aspx?iIDArticle=162 Please confirm your RSVP by the evening of Wednesday, June 4th. I plan to confirm the details of the reservation with the restaurant on Thursday morning. |
