Moon
( CLICK HERE FOR RELATED WEB LINK )
Moon is a member of an endangered species– actual science fiction. It has largely been displaced from its habitat in recent years by an invasive species called action movie set in space. This film has its roots in the intelligent, small-budget British cinema of the 1960's, not in the shoot-em-up Hollywood franchises. That's not to say the film has a low-budget look-- special effects are used sparingly but used well by director Duncan Jones.
I am not going to say anything about the story... because I hate knowing the story going in. Okay, I will say this much: Sam Rockwell works on the Moon. If you don't glean that much from the movie poster, it's probably time to check your temperature and lie down. Rockwell gives a fantastic performance... of which I will talk about no more.
In keeping with its low-budget roots, the film didn't open on a massive number of screens. Instead, it has been playing a circuit, just like in the good old days. Last month it was at the local plex, now it's playing at an art house. Don't trust the website's location guide as it seems to be incomplete or out-of-date, check google instead.

In agreeance
I, too, enjoyed this movie. Reminded me of Solaris and ... well the movie escapes me. But, Moon is a sound sxperience.
