Event Hosted By spIKEY Start slideshow spIKEY en MADRID Written By Carmel 06/05/2006 click for full size Date of Arrival: Monday, May 30, 2006 Date of Departure: Friday, June 2, 2006 After the MEETin Convention in Paris, I escorted Carmel and Kerry to Madrid. We took an overnight trenhotel from Paris and arrived in Madrid on Tuesday morning. You can see me wearing my new Amsterdam t-shirt, a present from my friend Crista. The afternoon of our first day in Madrid, we went to take pictures of Retiro Park. The park was originally part of a palace's gardens centuries ago, and was just opened to the public in the late 1800s. It features a man-made lake where people can hire boats. The following day, we spent most of the day at Madrid's museums, looking at famous works of art. We also took a stroll through a park in front of Plaza de Cibeles, on the way to Museo Thyssen. You can see me posing with the various sculptures at the park. I did not get to meet any MEETinMADRID friends on this trip. Perhaps next time? Stay tuned for the next city I'll visit...(hint, could it be another Spanish-speaking one?) More Photos
