Date of Arrival: May 3, 2006
Date of Departure: May 7, 2006 I had a fabulous time in the Crescent City! Once again, I went with Carmel on a business trip and stayed the weekend for Jazz Festanother famous blue work of art, courtesy of Cajun artist George Rodrigue. What a talented guy! Reminds me so much of my Mommy. Ken, Dave, Mark, and Patricia arrived late Thursday night and we hung out for a while at the Pat O'Brien's. Several hurricanes later (the drink, not the disaster), we roamed around Bourbon Street, ringing in Cinco de Mayo in true Nawlins style. On Friday afternoon, I visited areas heavily impacted by Hurricane Katrina and got to see Fats Domino’s house. That night, the gang and I went to Rock ‘N’ Bowl where they played rounds of bowling and hear great live music. Saturday was my day at the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival. What a great time we all had. Zydeco music is awesome!!! Some of us got to hear a bit of Jimmy Buffett. I’m just glad Dana didn’t follow through on her "threats" to stick a pole in me and wave me as a flag, like this poor Ernie doll: ![]() My weekend in New Orleans was truly exciting. I'm all jazzed up for my next adventure. Stay tuned… More Photos
