Date of Arrival: March 21, 2006
Date of Departure: March 24, 2006 This was my first trip to Albuquerque, NM. I went with Carmel and Cara, who were in Albuquerque for a training conference that week. New Mexico is a truly beautiful state with a long history that includes Native American, Spanish, and Anglo cultures. With an abundance of languages and tradition, it is no wonder the state's nickname is "Land of Enchantment." Albuquerque, the largest city in the state, is celebrating its Tricentennial this year. ![]() On Wednesday morning, March 22nd, I woke up to see snow (yes, snow!) had fallen on Albuquerque. Although it had melted off by early afternoon, it was still considered very strange weather by both locals and tourists alike. On Thursday, March 23rd, I got to MEET new friends, Angel and Ann at MEETinALBUQUERQUE’s first Happy Hour. I also got to meet new non-MEETin (for now!) friends, other out-of-towners who were attending the same conference as Carmel. My first visit to Albuquerque was brief. I will definitely be back for another visit soon because there is so much more to see and do. One of the state’s biggest tourist event is the annual Balloon Fiesta in October. Next time I visit, I want to go ballooning. So, what are you waiting for? Visit New Mexico! ![]() Anyone want to plan a road trip to the Balloon Fiesta? More Photos
