The Annual MEETin.org Celebration (formerly “Convention”) was held in Philadelphia this year and like the previous ones before was a huge success. The weather couldn’t have been any better which made sightseeing that much more enjoyable. The crew from MEETinPhilly did a great job posting and hosting events day and night that showcased their beautiful and historic city and what it had to offer. There were events for Duck Tours and Big Bus Tours of the whole city as well as walking tours of historic parts of the city, Independence Hall, and Eastern State Penitentiary, the replicating of Rocky’s run up the steps of the Art Museum, picnics in the beautiful parks and all sorts of dining events. Oh and can’t forget the cheese steaks of course. When the sun set, there were pub crawls in the Society Hill section, a graffiti t-shirt happy hour, lots of dancing and they even had live band karaoke where you actually sang with a live band rather than your typical video karaoke! The events were non-stop from morning until well…….the next morning….it would make your head spin trying to figure out which event to attend with as much as they had put together.
Much gratitude goes to Mike the Leader of MEETinPhilly as well as Alison and a ton of others who worked hard to make this Celebration so much fun. I encourage one and all from MiSC to join me at next year’s Celebration because it’s the perfect way to sightsee, party and meet and make new friends from all over the country. I made so many friends from Pennsylvania and we’ve already made plans for a trip to New Orleans for Mardi Gras in February! Had fun with everyone, from NYC Philly was a great time. Thanks to Wayne letting me know about it. :) Had Geno's and Pat's Philly Cheese steaks (different tasting now from last I visited) and they're both great. Preffer steak more shreded (Pat's) but with flavor (Geno's). I couldn't decide, so I ate one of each the same night (no kidding). :D On the slide show, one of the guys joined me holding 2 of his own. I got two from Geno's and he 2 from Pat's and we exchanged one. Wayne's jokes and the Pirate theme Friday was a blast. |

Great pics! Great slideshow!! Fun to see the sites of Philly again - it's been so long since I've been there in person. I see I missed an awesome celebration. I'll plan better for next year! |

ya only down side and i ahve seen it before is you lose the history years from now when that link no longer works to the slide show we have no photos on the site to point back to the fun we had. but it all good we have it in our heads hehe |

Ok ok..... ...since viewing the photos I had originally posted wasn't possible, I decided to install a slideshow and since Brooke liked the musical touch, I left that in. So now we have a slideshow with music! Wooohooo! And I threw ALL the gazzillion photos on there! Hahahahaha...much gratitude to Sonia who took most of these pics. Sonia and I were not only roommates but we were pretty much joined at the hip throughout the Celebration so I thought why not just use one camera instead of duplicating shots...and since her camera was much better than mine...well...the rest is MEETin history. Thanks Sonia! Enjoy the show now meeps! :) |

Hahahahahah... .....Shush Rob! And yes ... Sonia did provide good photography services for me ! :) Sonia...I don't think that's it because I totally deleted the code for the music and gave it a test run and it STILL was having problems accessing the pics. No worries...I'll just add the link to the photos ...yours and mine. |

"Wiz Wit" Sam and I did the unmentionable and tried a cheesesteak from Pat's and another from Geno's on the same night and eating both at Genos! =-o We were nervous about that because we knew it was a felony in Philly! :) |
