Theatre - Woman in Black Written By Mark_G 04/04/2006 click for full size
MEETinLondon enjoyed its first group outing to the theatre in London on April 1st. Maybe the joke was on the host. Our planned rendevous at 2pm near the Half price ticket booth turned out to be a logistic nightmare. Only 3 (Duygu,Terry and Hamid) managed to meet up in time. Fortunately, the rest (Emily,Jujum,Michael,Moira,Michelle and Melanie) after several phone calls and SMSs all managed to catch us up at Starbuck's Coffe house before the show. As for the show, well I think we all thought the first half was a bit slow. In fact our American guest Melanie (who had just flown in that day) was heard falling asleep. Thankfully, the second half was more exciting. In fact a few of the scenes seemed to scare our female guests. All in all it turned out to be an interested day out. We continued the show with dinner in an Italian restaurant near Leicester Square. For the few brave souls, the party continued on into the wee small hours at Cheers. Hopefully everyone had a fun time.
Thanks to Terry for the Photos. More photos will be posted soon......... More Photos

Thanks, Mark! Many thanks for coordinating the event. It was great meeting more people from MEETinLONDON and having dinner after the play. Rumor had it that our host would be treating us all to refreshments during intermission, but alas, apparently he wasn't the host-est with the most-est. Other than this small detail, a lovely time! :^) |

Oh la la I admit, this wasn't my first choice, but it ended up being excellent! Actually, I was really creeped out because standing underneath the tube tracks, it sounded just like the rocking of the chair in the play. Thanks Mark for organizing this! |

A play in a play A play in a play Acting was in complete synergy with the special effects. One at the service of the other and, through this, met the challenge of every good play which not give a boring performance. Although the 1st part was a bit slow, inherent to the script (actor learning to act to another actor) the second part was enthralling with lot of suspense. And what I really like was the end as the both thought their was a 3rd actor… Another way or interaction. |
