Event Hosted By Terry Link To Event Start slideshow Saturday Social and Stroll at Borough Market Written By Terry 08/18/2008 click for full size Borough Market was our initial meeting place for what became a long, relaxing, and touristy day. Celine who returned this week from a three-month stint in Hawaii (lucky girl!) invited her friend, Rafael to the event. This was his first MEETin event since he arrived from Switzerland earlier this week. Tom, Odette and I met them at the market and we strolled around whilst sampling gourmet food and drinks. We stopped at a patisserie to rest our legs and snack on French biscuits, chocolate truffles and quench our thirst. After a brief stop at Celine’s flat to pick-up an ‘apple’ :^), we walked over to Buckingham Palace and said good-bye to Rafael. The remaining four walked down the Mall, cut through St. James’s Park, and then stopped at a pub near Westminster Abbey. Franck, who just returned from holiday in France, joined us fresh off the train. The five of us walked towards the South Bank past the London Eye and eventually made our way to Founder’s Arms near the Tate Modern with Paddy in toe. Franck shared some yummy homemade pancakes that his grandmother made that morning. What was planned as a way to avoid the predicted rainy weather and enjoy one of London’s greatest markets turned into a rainless day playing tourist in the capital of England.
