Okay, I think this news posting wins for corniest title!

So, boy, a whole passle of people showed up at the Csardas Restaurant on Melrose, in Hollywood. Let's see if I can remember them all: well, there was me, of course, and Hilary, Kai, Andy and his friend Mara, Patrick, Melody, Richard, Sue, Badger, Stephanie (who, if she calls you, you'd better pick up, or you'll hear about it!), Ricardo, Andrew, and Darren - I think that's it! Oh yeah, and, my Hungarian husband-wanna-be, who I'm guessing was the owner of the restaurant, stopped by our table a bit (and gave challah to the ladies who showed up early!). Yes, I think he wins the prize for most forward pick-up line: "are you going to take your clothes off?" Ah, my love life is so sad ...

We all sat down and chatted for a loooong time, eating yummy crescent breadstick-type rolls and watching fun Hungarian TV, intermittently also entertained by the pianist, playing authentic non-Hungarian music. Let's just say it was a good thing the company was so enjoyable, because we were pretty "Hungary" by the time the food arrived.

But, once it did, it was delish! Our taste buds were delighted by the standard, always delicious chicken paprikash, various goulashes, Wiener Schnitzel, Beef of Gamy (which, while gamey, had a very tasty sauce!), and a garlic pork/potato thing which was yum, but, I can't remember the name, something like bocchoi, or something like that. Most of us saved room for the yummy palacsinta, all of us choosing the chocolate variety. As we enjoyed our dessert, Melody booted the piano player and serenaded us with her own variety of authentic, non-Hungarian music.

What a fun night! We stayed for a long time, and I for one can say that I did not notice how late it was until I got home! Thanks for a fun night everybody!

I forgot to bring the camera, so, all of the (many, many) pictures are on Melody's cameras, so, those will be posted by hook or by crook, some way or other!
