Event Hosted By Amanda Start slideshow Memorial Day BBQ & Pool Party Written By Amanda 06/04/2006 click for full size Lots of food, alcohol and water made for another great party at Hotel Hansen over Memorial Day weekend. We had TON of people, including a few new faces! Despite the typical icky (and ultra-changeable) Houston weather, a good time was had by all. My college roomie, Nancy, was in town to celebrate with us, and she, along with Kyle, Amy & Jason, all helped me prepare the food and get everything ready. And in true Amanda fashion, I started freaking out before anyone got there. Thanks guys!! Aron was the first on the scene, followed by Tracy & Matthew ... the jello shots really started going when LaTanya showed up! Kyle & Jason fired up the grill, and the eating began. Jason's yummy spinach dip was a hit, as was Mina's grilled steak salad. And someone let Rachel mix drinks again ... About half the group took a dip in the pool and/or jacuzzi as the night wore on, and we were only briefly interrupted by some rain. There was a mean game of pool upstairs, but eventually all good things must end. We did have a few stragglers who stayed over- we ended up watching some movies (somehow, all of them had Cameron Diaz in them?!?!) before conking out for the night. I think everyone woke up around 5am, though, for the monster of storm that hit The Woodlands, and slowly, everyone left for home. Thanks to everyone for coming- it was such a good time! P.S. The main picture posted is in honor of our resident party chica, Rachel, who, along with her hubby Russ, is leaving us for Russia. Expect a HUGE par-tay upon their return ... we miss you already!!
