Event Hosted By Evelyn Start slideshow Horseback Riding Written By Evelyn 04/24/2006 click for full size Last Saturday was the PERFECT day for horseback riding. Robert & Bobby, Rachel, Rey (newbie), Kim and I met at The Spread at noon. Sam gave us the expected warm welcome. He is just so cool that I cannot stand it! We met our horses and took a couple of practice rounds in his small pasture. 3 riders have never really ridden a horse before--Rey, Robert and Bobby. Kudos to those brave souls. After our practice rounds, we were off for our hour long ride. We rode through ditches, paved streets (that clacking sound is so lovely), the woods, and a small field. Kim's horse was pregnant. She is due in a week! Isn't that amazing that she is still able to go on a trail ride?! Rey seemed to have the hungry horse....Bruce who was only 2 years old definitely had an appetite and would refuse to move until he had his share of roadside gourmet. For most of the ride I was at the back of the line. I guess Sam knew how to get to my heart, so he stuck a beer in a tree so that when I passed it I could have a nice cold brew. What a host! Everyone had a blast. It was a great event and definitely one that MiHers should do again. Rey really picked a good one to introduce himself to MiH! Also, Sam can probably get more horses and have more riders. There are also beach rides available! More Photos
