2007 Texas Crawfish & Music Festival Written By Amanda 05/03/2007 click for full size
It's that time again in Spring- Crawfish Festival! Since moving to Texas, it's been my favorite event, and the MeetIn crowd put in another great showing.
It was a gorgeous, sunny day- Jason and I met Art, Jessica, David, Tonya, Robert, Melissa and their kids at Sonic, then caravanned over to Old Town Spring. Once we finally parked, we walked around the small town, admiring some great shops and booths, specifically set up for this event. It wasn't long before the beer was flowing! Jason started off the eating with his favorite, crawfish sausage. Yum! Then we all headed inside the actual festival, where there were plenty of crawfish to be ripped open, picked out, sucked and generally eaten. :) Oh, and plenty of beer ... Melissa and Robert brougt along their lovely group, including big brother Bobby, adorable Connor and the 6-week old twins, Adam and Aaron. When we finally met up with Tracy, she was on the verge of kidnapping the little ones! After we had exhausted the booths at the festival, including the jerky guy and flea circus, we headed back out where we bumped into Russ and Beth. Time for more food- and beer- and lots of pictures, as well as chatting. All in all, it was a beautiful day filled good food and great friends. This was my third year at the festival with MiH and you can bet I'll be back next year! More Photos

Well done I say, well done! Well, I had a blast again. The heat can get to ya, but alas we are in Texas so I planned according. The sweating may have worked the brews through the pores a bit too quickly though. The coconuts, the sausage, and the Pistoles (sp?) - little bread pockets filled with crawfish goodness - made it all worth it. Somehow managed to avoid the burn too . . . They should have an open bar price! : ) I want more bugs!!!! Cheers, Jay |

sun No sunburn believe it or not. I was able to squeeze less than an ounce of sunblock out of a bottle in the car. Just enough. It wasn't as nice as you remember though - it was pretty damn hot. And the summer hasn't even begun.... |

So much fun... This was a great event... just like the last time I went. Couldn't find the artist to make me a "Bronwen, you suck" part 2 poster, but oh well. :) We still had fun. I wonder how many of us burned in the sun (eh, Art?). Look forward to this event again next year. |
