A R T Lovers deadline
Philly Meetin hopes to see many of you at this year's Convention/Celebration in September! We're hoping that this year will be historical --- or is that hysterical?
This is to remind any attendees, who are Art Lovers, that the Barnes Foundation Event on Sat. 9/20/08 has been opened for RSVPs and because of the unique location it has a DEADLINE for signing up: August 15th.
Inside the Barnes Foundation only 50 people are permitted at one time and both tickets and parking passes must be bought in advance - it fills up fast.
At this time the event is limited to 9 people, but those on the Wait List may be able to go - I just have to round up a few more volunteers to drive to the event (no public transportation) - and that shouldn't be a problem.
So.............If you would love to see one of the world's greatest art collections.....please RSVP - ASAP ! Also, check out all the other events posted so far (more to come) to plan your visit.
The Barnes is great ......here's a little bit about it:
"The Barnes Foundation houses one of the finest collections of French Impressionist, Post-Impressionist, and early Modern paintings in the world, including an extraordinary number of masterpieces by Pierre-Auguste Renoir (181), Paul Cézanne (69), and Henri Matisse (59). The collection also includes important works by Pablo Picasso (46), Chaim Soutine (21), Henri Rousseau (18), Amedeo Modigliani (16), Edgar Degas (11), Vincent van Gogh (7), Georges Seurat (6), Edouard Manet (4), and Claude Monet (4). "
