I met Sean at one his famous wine tasting events while visiting Denver for the weekend. He made me and my friends Mina and Lucy feel welcome even if we DID arrive late and miss most of the party. Sean is a wonderful host, a great coversationalist and is the wine expert I strive to be! You'll have to check out his EuroCave if you haven't done so already (I have to get me one of those). Oh and his dog Thomas was also fun to talk to...was that a syrah blend I saw in his doggie dish?? Thanks for welcoming us out-of-staters into your home and allowing us to stay well past your bedtime Sean! :-) <-( Irene says ;-)
This is an overdue testimonial for this man. I first met Sean a few years ago...I believe it was the anti-Valentine's day party...seems like ages ago! I have made the trek all the way to Broomfield (where he and Thomas happily reside) only once...to attend his Wine and Cheese party..and am still figuring out how to get back to his house for one of his dinner parties...they seem to fill up too fast for me to ever get on the guest list! Anyway, Sean welcomed me into MiD and is one of the reasons I stuck with this crazy group. Thanks Sean! <-( Kristen says ;-)
Sean...hmmmm. We know he has a lovely home. We also know he has a stinky, although adorable and sweet, dog. He is an excellent host and can choose an incredible bottle of wine. My advice, though, is that if you discuss anything with him during one of his events, and you plan to discuss it later, record it. Otherwise, you will place him in the very uncomfortable position of having to ask, "Have I told you about this already?". You have two options at this point: 1) Play dumb and pretend you hadn't heard it 3 times the night before or, 2)Kindly remind him that you already know his entire family history, the story of his birth, and how the west was won. Ok - I am totally kidding! Who hasn't forgotten small details after sampling 15 different kinds of Syrah???? I drank 4 and could barely remember my name the next morning! Thank you for an excellent initiation into to MID! Great wine, food, and people! <-( Alan says ;-)
Sean is like awesome. Remember that part in 'true romance' when Christian Slater said if he had to do a guy, like if his life depended on it, he'd do elvis? Well, sean is my elvis. Sean, rock on man. Be my elvis. Long live the king. <-( adam says ;-)
Sean's house, is a very, very, very fine house. With two cats in...screech...bang...no that won't do. No cats. this is most definitely the home of Thomas. Sean lives there too. It's not clear that he ever leaves (ok, i did see him once, at the police officer's station...). Anyway, back to Thomas - he seems a mellow, friendly fellow...but he seems to have a deep, dark secret. That he keeps to himself. Even Sean doesn't know what it is. Just watch what you say around him ("ven aqui" is to be avoided; at all costs). Oh yeah - Sean seems to have attended more events than he has hosted. This is clearly a mistake. He has hosted waay more. I believe that Mikey has a bug here. Sean never leaves the home. Thomas would get lonely. Plus Sean is a closet environmentalist (with a very micro-economic viewpoint). he sits throne like in the kitchen, serving wine and delicacies to the hordes that flow thru the doors to pay homage. he can be a bit out of touch with the proles tho - not realizing that they are not coming via chariot (or even public transportation). Don't tell him, or he may be forced to stop the parade of wonderful comestibles... So to sum up: try to bicycle more, eat local, and pretend to eat meat (no - not that other, other white meat from vietnam). Quipees! <-( Laura says ;-)
If every testimonial was redeemable for a bottle of wine… Sean would be in heaven! Okay, so is there a way to make this wish come true??? Anything is possible. I think you should start working on it… along with the SPAM dinner at home. Sean, you are a wonderful host, thank you for welcoming me into your home and for introducing me to a great new red wine! Let's see, Sean.. where to start and end. He's got a sense of humor that comes through in the most unusual ways. He also loves Thomas which says a lot about him. He's a great host who lets people watch Dr McDeamy even though he probably doesn't want to. I hear he's doing an amazing shrimp dinner coming up very soon. Find an event he's at and he'll poke your bumps too!! <-( nikki says ;-)
I don't know much more about Sean except that he likes good food, good wine, Grey's Anatomy, is a fabulous host & has a crazy sense of humor. But really....what more do you need to know? <-( Thomas the dog says ;-)
Bark bark bark, BarK bark, BArk, bark bark bark barK. <-( Jen K says ;-)
Sean, Sean, Sean.. What can we say about Sean? Well, I am not sure I am able to write too much because I am too busy laughing about the olive in his nose. Well here goes nothing. Sean is a great host, fun, and always has a great story to tell. He definitely opens up his home to everyone and makes them feel right at home. Thanks Sean for being the host with the most!! :-) <-( Mel R. says ;-)
Ya know, I was i>gonna/i> do a nice little testimonial here, but every time I see that pic of you with the olive in your nose...it just throws me off my writing game (sigh). Okay okay, Sean's a great guy, a wonderful host, easygoing, friendly, great sense of humor...and he lives just down the street from me so I get to walk to his parties in my pj's, swill some juice of the grape, and stumble home into bed. SWEET!! Sean is a gracious host. Serves a fun and yummy dinner. Even goes out of his way to make sure desert is served! Sean is always bouncing around snapping pictures and sipping wine that I barely get the chance to talk to him at parties! Let's see...I do know that he has red hair...Yep that's it. (hahah). No, just kidding! Sean always opens up his home for get togethers, be they dinner parties, wine appreciation nights, or slumber parties with some combination of each. Perhaps one of these days I'll drive (all the way) up to Broomfield and test out his hospitality for myself :) <-( Brena says ;-)
Not like he needs another testimonial, but I have to write one for my fellow North Dakotan. Okay, he’s not really from ND, but he lived there long enough that we’ll claim him. Who else can I talk to about frigid winter weather and turboprop planes? Sean is an excellent host (I was going to call him the “host with the most”, but I see that someone already beat me to that) with very creative dinner ideas. We met at the first event he attended and since then he’s jumped into the group 100%. Although I rarely make it to his place, it has nothing to do with the company and only with the fact that he lives all the way in Broomfield! However, I’ve heard lots of interesting things can happen at his parties, so maybe I’ll have to start attending more often! Don’t be intimidated about attending one of his events for the first time because Sean is very welcoming and you’re sure to have a great time. Well let's see...I haven't actually DONE any MID things yet. I have however known Sean for many years as a friend, business partner, coworker, designated driver (and helper of intoxicated females),designated non-driver, gadget head and computer fiend, and all around good guy. I don't think I know anyone else who can juggle so many activities at once. We went snow-shoeing last winter, that was fun except for the cold, and exhaustion, and not being able to take my dog on the trail. Seems like his latest events have been hits (all 15 thousand of them), so I am here to join in the fun. I know. I know. It is wrong to think this way. But. Really. I want Sean's wine opener. Have you seen it? Man oh man. Oh. Sure. We all go to Sean's place to hang with him and drink wine and eat food and let Thomas lick our toes...but...even if he weren't home, surely we’d drop by to practice using that wine opener on his prized-locked-up REFRIGERATED wine cellar. And. I mean. Of course. We'd drink the wine we opened; but we’d save some for (if) when the busy-boy returned to his palace of a home. Because...we LIKE Sean. <-( AmyC says ;-)
THIS IS NOT A TESTIMONIAL FOR SEAN, BUT FOR THOMAS THE DOG! I can't say what it is about Thomas the Dog that I'm so drawn to, but I find him simply irresistible. I fell in love with him the instant I met him. He's can whip up a great potluck meal...oops that's Sean. Anyway, back to Thomas the Dog...what a chick magnet! <-( AmyC says ;-)
Sean is the best party planner ever...for a man. : ) He is so enthusiastic to open his home to a bunch of kooks that will go anywhere for food or wine, sometimes several times a week. Since I've known him, he's always "aimed to please" which explains why there are always lots and lots of women surrounding him. Rarely serious, he's a fun and funny guy. <-( Alan says ;-)
Whoot... the man knows how to cook some out-of-sight food and knows how to have a good time. I've enjoyed every one of his dinners so far. I've made some friends, drank some not so good wine along with some very excellent ones too. And of course ate great food. All around a nice guy and knows how to have others enjoy themselves as well! <-( Elizabeth says ;-)
Sean....What can't I say about him???? He is an awesome host with great taste in wine, food, and friends ;P. It is always a race against time to make sure you make it on his guest list. Watch out for Sean with a camera though, cause' he can be dangerous...;P. More Testimonials >> |
