Wild Animal Sanctuary

There was a good showing for this event. We all met up at LOVES in Hudson for a nice quick lunch before venturing to the Wild Animal Sanctuary & Preserve. It was very educational and a little disheartening to actually learn the numbers that exist of these mistreated and overly bred creatures, especially in Texas alone. Who’d have thunk it? Are you aware that for every animal you see on television or in the movies, there are over twenty, yes twenty, that are bred that do not make the cut and end up as “waste”. This place provides caring volunteers for these majestic creatures and gives them a place to live in peace. By the looks of the animals, they are well fed and loved, maybe even too much. This is definitely a place to see if ever you have the time and it’s only a short hour drive from southern Denver. Call it “Bitter Sweet”, but by all means call it “Reality”. There are dumb people out there that think they can domesticate these large predators and turn them into pets. They soon learn that they are dead WRONG! The lucky ones get put down or are able to live their lives out here at the Rocky Mountain Wildlife Conservation Center. Our hats go off to those volunteers that make them (and us) welcome.

Great Idea!
Everyone needs to visit this place! It's close to twon and has lots of amazing animals - all in a place much cooler than the zoo!

Animal visit
Wow, what a great group of folks attended this event and truly a "reality" check. Really, really windy and quite a bit colder than we anticipated, but a nice way to see the great animals in a somewhat freer environment. Thanks Kevin (ps- you weren't supposed to post pics of me....I don't look so good...) :-)

Wow!
Looks like you guys had a blast! Thanks for sharing the pics, Kevin :)

Thank to my new friend
Thanks to everyone who came out. It was a nice way to spend a Sunday afternoon. Hope you all enjoyed it. "Bitter Sweet" but still pretty "Neat".
