Moving Day (in the Blizzard)

Well...
Do you want the short-version or the long-version?
Short: We now live in the city.
Long: 9 guys and 4 girls and 2 kids and 2 dogs braved the slick roads and drove up the mountain to move 2 Uhaul truckloads of my crap down to Littleton! In the snow, cold, dealing with freezing hands, backbreaking boxes (books!), flimsy furniture that kept falling apart and just way too much stuff!!!!! Jim was a brave man to drive the truck. Of course it got stuck going up and stuck going down the drive. Of course it slid on the icy surface. Of course it rocked a little on the uneven pavement. Of course it got stuck in the ditch and down at the bottom and up at the top. And of course Jim kept a positive outlook, with the help of Rob and Paul and Todd and Jeff cheering him on. Marty carried way too many boxes for his bad back (but cheered up after the pizza came). Adam worked tireless and even loaded our bikes and skis on his car. (He cheered up after pizza, too!). Everyone packed their cars to the gills and after two trips, of loading and unloading, it was done.

I have the most amazing friends in the world. Who would be willing to help me like this?! Thanks so much to Lisa-Ann-Cathy-Serene-Dan-Daniel-Todd-Jeff-Marty-Jay-Jim-Rob-Adam-Paul-Sydney-for your back-breaking labor, your positive attitudes, your act of love for our family.

ps. you'll be happy (or mad) to know that I took 3 car loads to the thrift store yesterday...

not for the faint hearted
It takes true friends to move... a piano. Sorry I couldn't make it, but glad you and your stuff are in your new place!

Stacy
Nice job!
I'm so glad it went well and with no injuries of road accidents! I'm sorry to have missed being able to help but was stuck with my car in the shop (from blizzard accident the week before!). I hope you're all settled in and enjoying the new place, Amy!

Lisa
moving
Glad to help. Good job on taking things to the thrift store....less things to move next time! :)

Ann
Teamwork!
It was great to see so many caring people working together and getting the job done! It was a great workout, and I was privileged to share in this great transition/adventure in your life! You're the best, Amy my dear!
