Well, what can I say about the Grand Canyon Campout besides it was: Fun, wet, rainy, moist, cold, hot, sunny, cloudy, muddy, dusty, beautiful, happy, good, energetic, lazy, tiring, exhausting, chilly, frosty, entertaining, amusing, pleasurable, interesting, excellent, outstanding, tasty, busy, calming, crazy, pouring, drenched, gorgeous, lovely, grand, delightful, and on and on and on. Insert word here… Thank you to everyone who showed up. Sorry to those of you whose tents became part of the river. It seems many of you have now graduated to a new form of camping… camping in the rain. Congrats to those of you who made it. I appreciate everyone who took the time to let me know what their ride/driver plans were and to pre-pay me through Paypal, check or cash. Yay camping! Thanks again guys! I still have more photos coming in daily that I will post. More Photos

I loved it! Rain, Hail, flooded tent! It was fun! Big thanks to Mikel for letting me sleep in his truck the second night, Mike for giving me a ride home and entertaining me during the traffic jam, TEAM RYAN - you know who you are and why you all desire big hugs and beers from me, Steve for the ride to dinner, Jackie for help with the tent Friday night and being a good drinking buddy, and Derek for his incredible kindness and excellent tarp system! Kudos Tracy and Chris for another grand adventure! |

What a weekend! Thanks again Tracy for hosting and organizing this event! My first trip to the GC , and it was better than expected (drinking water, flush toilets, AND showers?)!!! The little bit of rain we had while hiking was refreshing, and well, the rest of the rain called for snuggling in the tent mostly! We actually stayed pretty dry, but cleaning the mud out/off of the tent took a while once we got home. Oh yeah, getting home...it took 4 hours to get to the GC, and almost 7 to get home. Hopefully everyone made it home safe and sound. |

Baptism Congratulations to all the survivors of this year's Grand Canyon experience. Another memorable event with its own special "elements," (rain, hail, traffic jam.) Thanks Tracy for putting it out there and gathering the flock as best one can. I'm sure we all learned many new ways to dance with Mother Nature and the human stampede back to Phoenix. |
