About Photo Club
Jacinda is a graphic designer and marketing consultant by trade. Originally from Rhode Island, she made her way to Washington DC in July 2005 after an 8 year stint in Los Angeles. In addition to painting and photography, Jacinda enjoys paper crafts, jewelry design and totally random and eclectic art projects such as Pysanky, a Ukrainian wax-resist egg dying technique. After a lengthy discussion about their mutual love of photography, miKEY suggested that Jacinda revive the PHOTO CLUB and here it is.
The first rule of Photo Club is...just kidding. Photo Club's primary mission is to create a community of photographers and photography enthusiasts. A place to discuss creative ideas and equipment and to plan PhotoTreks to unique locations and visits to photography exhibits. In the future we plan to create a series of Art Show events featuring the work of Photo Club members and an online gallery.
About Laura
Laura graduated from Penn State with a degree in photography and moved to Washington, DC in 2004 to start her career with a renown local photographer. She later started her own company specializing in photography and photo album design. She now teaches at a private school in Maryland where she heads up the yearbook and teaches computers to elementary students.
I would like to help everybody better understand his or her camera and come to have a stronger appreciation of photography as an art form. I look forward to providing MeetinDC with plenty of photo club events.
