About Book Club
The Books in DC group was started to give members of our community a chance to discuss and share ideas. Our group is a little different than other book talks because we use the book as a launching point for the discussions. In other words, if you've read even half of the book, you'll be adequately prepared for our talks.
Each month we read a different book, and present a few different themes at our discussions. We discuss fiction and nonfiction books that stimulate interesting and intelligent dialogue. The only thing we ask of you is your participation and your ideas.
Also, our online message board is intended to begin discussions on any book that people have read--please help us make it grow. It is helpful to begin threads on books that are getting lots of attention or have been developing a great buzz, so you can have a wide response. Let us know if you have just read a great book and want to share your experience of it. Or if you find a book challenging, and need some clarity on some of the points, ask them of your fellow book-lovers here.
