Nothing makes me happier than spending time with friends and meeting new people, which is why you'll find me so active in MiD. Because I work at home, I'm out A LOT. I am a big-time foodie and love all kinds of food from super gourmet to a good hot dog. I'm into cooking and baking and entertaining and get giddy about doing it with a theme. To balance out all this decadence, I really like gym-type stuff...kickboxing and weightlifting...but have gotten back into cycling thanks to the MiD bike rides. I'll take a class on just about anything and love to learn new things. And don't forget my dog, the best thing in the universe!!!
    Favorite Music
Classic Rock, Frank Sinatra/Ella Fitzgerald type stuff, 70s, 80s, Beatles. Don't think I've heard of anyone that's come out this century! Yeah, I'm old.
    Favorite Books
My favorite author is John Irving and my favorite book is Lonesome Dove. I'm addicted to David Sedaris and Augusten Burroughs. The Sweet Potato Queens books are a guilty pleasure. I'm always reading something. Also, I collect cookbooks and read them all the way through.
    Favorite TV Shows
Well, I didn't use to watch TV at all. Then I got turned on to Heroes and Studio 60. And a few months later, I was introduced to My Name is Earl and The Office...which I keep pausing because I'm laughing so hard. I do love Oprah and watch her pretty much every day. Tivo has ruined my life... I record South Park and Sex and the City and all the Barefoot Contessa cooking shows. When I had cable Curb Your Enthusiasm and Monk were favorites but I cancelled it because "I don't really watch tv". Hah!
    Favorite Movies
There are about 300 of them, depending on my mood. I really see a lot of indie and foreign movies and love those, but also like stupid comedies and chick flicks. Almost anything but horror. Favorites are as diverse as Sense and Sensibility and Reservoir Dogs...go figure.

    About Me
I think I pretty much covered it above.
    Why I joined
I've been in CO for just over 6 years and have been super active in MiD since joining more than 3 years ago. My jobs here have been home-based and I live in the 'burbs, so it can be a challenge to meet a lot of people. Not in MiD! : )
My Best MEETin event story ( please only fill in after you have been to an event )
Well, it seems as though I've done about a zillion of them so it's hard to pick out favorites. I really enjoy the smaller events that allow me to get to know people one-on-one. Such fantastic people in MiD!!!

Amy is an amazing woman. She is kind, looks out for other people and is always fun to have at MiD events. She has always made me feel welcome at her events, and I really enjoy catching up with her when she's not busy playing MiD Hostess :) I don't know how she does it all...she's a regular at fun events, is getting married soon and is very involved with her new family. I am really blessed to know her. Thanks Amy for always making MiD fun for everyone!

Amy C- former MiD leader, friendly, smart, sassy, fabulous, can punch a mean bag at kickboxing class, and a great friend.

    <-( Lori says ;-)
As her 51st testimonial, I imagine it has all been said, but just from me ... Amy has SO impressed me with her genuine kindness. I really wish I could be more like her. What I know for a fact is that there are 3 lucky kids to now have her as a role model on growing up to be the kind of choice people that the world needs more of. She plants the seeds of kindness and you can't help but feel it in her presence. Thanks Amy!

Amy is very cool! She is very welcoming to new people and happy to introduce to other members.

to me MiD is like a big old fashioned neighborhood stretching from aurora to golden to broomfield to highlands ranch to boulder and all in between, and i think Amy is a force behind it. i really apprectiate all her time and effort in this good organization. she's bright and welcoming and inviting and comforting and i like food sharing too...so glad you're here!

    <-( Phil says ;-)
I like Amy. She's a visionary leader, a strong advocate of inclusion, and a genuinely nice person. I especially like her hugs—they're so full of love, warmth, and bosom. Ever since Amy's gotten out of rehab, she's really blossomed as our leader of MiD. The sweet AmyC of today no longer tortures animals, no longer beats her boyfriend, and no longer leads the notorious Amy-geddon street gang, responsible for so much vandalism and violence in the metro-Denver area. So, when you see her smile and extend her arms to you, be sure to embrace her and tell her she's doing a great job. Believe me, we want her on OUR side!

    <-( Bridget says ;-)
Obviously, I am in very good company when I sing Amy’s praises. She deftly connects with just about every new member in the group, and makes sure to introduce folks to each other. She is also very patient, and has endured each ludicrous question I’ve lobbed her way about the web site and membership with gracious humor and genuine attentiveness. I greatly appreciate the amount of time and energy she spends to make our organization run, much of it, I know, behind the scenes and without recognition. She is loved by so many of us, and I consider myself lucky (even though she hasn't given me naked) to be part of her fan base!

    <-( Jules says ;-)
I first met Amy at the Farewell Drinks for Maya event in 2005. I tried to get Naked from Amy, but seems Brett was way ahead of me, and he got Naked from Amy. I asked if I could get Naked from Amy, but seems I don’t understand the rules. Since then I have become very good friends with Amy, but still, I've not received Naked from Amy. So if anyone knows how to get Naked from Amy, please let me know.

Amy is one of the main reasons why MID is such a cool group. She is very friendly and she will make you feel home from minute one. From the first time you meet her you will feel as if you have been knowing her forever. You will find Amy at events ranging from Dinners to happy hours or anything social but for some reason despite being in Colorado she refuses to go hiking and camping. Hopefully we will see her cooking s'mores someday......

    <-( Gary says ;-)
Another long overdue testimonial. Amy is an incredible host and a HUGE part of why MID is so active and so fun. Amy hosted the first event I attended (I know, what are the odds, like 50/50) and made me feel welcome right from the start. Amy goes out of her way to introduce people, make them feel welcome and to make sure everyone is having a good time. Amy is also a very fun and intelligent person who can talk on a wide variety of subjects. She has become my "Vegas" buddy and I always look forward to our Vegas conversations. Now that I think about it, I look forward to our conversations about anything, really. Amy is someone that I am very proud and happy to call my friend and I look forward to seeing her at many more events.

What can I say here that hasn't already been said by countless others? The phrase "Hostess With the Mostest" was created because of Amy...she is a force of nature, and I have NO idea where she gets her seemingly endless energy! But it's fun to bask in and absorb some of it!

    <-( Dwight says ;-)
Amy is awesome. She has treated me like a good friend from day one. She always has a great postive attitude and seems to have an incredible aptitude to remember not only names and faces, but specific personal details or interests about every member she meets. She is very supportive and fun to be around - what else hasn't already been said???

    <-( Jaka says ;-)
I totally agree with the other's testimonials about her. She's really a fun and friendly girl. I am so impressed when as a newbie and for the first time I joined the event (the Member's Night), she looked for me, introduced herself to me, welcame me, greeted me warmly. What a wonderful moment...

    <-( Lara says ;-)
Amy is a fun girl! Whether it's drag queen bingo or a festive holiday party, Amy can throw a party with the best of 'em. She also knows how to organize an event so when she's at the helm, you know you'll have a good time!

    <-( Nancy says ;-)
Amy is a blast!!! This girl has got it going on and has an incredibly ability to make everyone laugh and feel welcome. I am so glad I know her and am looking forward to a lot of fun times! :)

    <-( Joy says ;-)
Ahhhh Amy. So'amyable' & kind. Love how wholeheartedly she plans & participates in events. She is warm, approachable, genuine....& fun to be around. She remembered my name & gave me a hug at my second event. I was surprised then but not anymore - now that I've had the opportunity to discover what a lovely person she is.

    <-( Jennifer says ;-)
Oh, I know I am only one of Amy's many admirers, but a girl can never have too many testimonials, you know....Becoming friends with Amy through MID has been a highlight, and one of the best things to come of being a member in Meet in Denver. Great food, fun conversation, wine and cheese- Amy never lets a moment happen that doesn't have something amazing in it!

    <-( Holly says ;-)
Amy is the kind of friend who is willing to point out the people I know, cook the food I eat, and prep me for the meeting where I don’t know what to say. My favorite Amy story: She sat on the edge of my hospital bed and whispered ‘date talk’ for almost an hour before we noticed the microphone. Yes. Her whole conversation had been recorded as a part of my epilepsy monitoring. Ah. Amy. I’m positive they’re still selling THAT cd.

    <-( Curtis says ;-)
How is it that I never wrote a testimonial for you hon??? I have attended as many "Amy Events" as is humanly possible. You have made me laugh and smile more than any one person should enjoy in a lifetime. Thank you for your friendship.

    <-( OD says ;-)
Thank you so much Amy. You are a breath of fresh air and I can only hope we see more of each other. Thanks for lending me a non-judgmental ear and being an inspiration in more ways than one.
