The transportation system was not on our side for this trip. First the Metro was doing work and shutting down sections of the blue line, and then we found a patch of 95 that was slow for no apparent reason. But we made it to the park soon after opening and never looked back. Since the crowd was pretty heavy at the front of the park, we decided to head to the rides in back first. This was a wise decision as we got several rides in before lunch. During lunch, we had the last member of the crew arrive and we started working on the plan for the rest of the day. We decided to do all the rides that we were all interested in first and that had short lines, then move the ones with longer lines and finally do the rides that only a few people were interested in. In the end, we got to every ride and did a few twice. We had only one long line and we had only one ride that looked and sounded better than it was. It turns out that hanging upside down in a pirate ship kind of makes your head hurt. We went on as many rides as we could and I think that we were all kind of glad that the park wasn’t open any longer. I really don’t think that we had one more roller coaster in us. This trip was definitely a success and we need to give a special thanks to Dana who provided the discount promotion code, acted as chaffer and tour guide.

Nice! Man, it's been years since I went to King's Dominion with MiDC! Do they still have the glow-in-the-dark Scooby Doo mystery ride where you shoot targets with a laser gun? :-) |
