Written By Brooke 06/17/2008 click for full size Once again, MeetinDc invaded Las Tapas to have what turned out to be a wonderful night of Spanish-fusion revelry! I was a little worried at first that the night would be a disaster, as it didn't get off to the best start: As I rushed to the metro station, trying not to be late to my own event, I noticed that I was hobbling like peg-leg, and I turned around to see that one of my heels had broken off. I hobbled back for it, picked it up, and ran for the train. Brijette picked me up from the station, at which point we went on a pilgrimage to find super glue in hopes of salvaging the shoe. Alas, we only came across Elmers Glue and packing tape, so I operated on the heel while Brijette drove to Las Tapas. Once there, however, I realized there would be no surviving a night of dancing on my package-taped heel. Just when I thought there would be no dancing for Brooke, we found Michael, and he came to the rescue. Though he had tools in his monster truck to do the job, he decided that the table knives at Las Tapas might do just as well. And thus, Michael proceeded to cut off the heel of the good shoe to match the broken one, all with the restaurant knife. Wonder Boy that he is, he was successful! And with that, the dancing could begin! Besides being stalked by the owner for some unknown reason, interrogated by the I.D. police, and mutilating my favorite black shoes, we had a wonderful time! The sangria was flowing, the music was intoxicating as always, and we kept the dance floor crowded. It was great to see some familiar faces and to know how much people enjoy coming back to this event, but we were also graced with the presence of some Baltimore meeps, as well as some new members! --It was wonderful to meet all of you! Thanks to all who came out to this wonderful venue. It was truly a great time! And a special thanks to Michael the Shoemaker, without whose skills I would not have been able to dance! Yusef	Dance dance baby! Fun times as usual, and yall even got me on the dance floor a couple of times (a huge accomplishment). And the blurry pix might be due to dropping the camera a few times!

Chiara	New Member :-) The band was great!!! The food too! The only thing was that they closed too early...cinderella time... Not even the bartender was aware that they were closing...funny. Overall, it was a fun night. Thanks Brooks!
Audrey	I guess I should stay longer next time! I was there in the beginning of the evening, had to leave early because I had a tennis match at 8am the next day. The short time I was there I had a great time, thanks for hosting! Next time I guess I should stay longer . . .

Oh, and I am determined, after elected to the state senate (Brijette in '16, b!tches!) to lift the lame a$$ ban on no liquor in Sangria! What crap!! Apples need to hold onto brandy!! BRANDY!
