Billy Goat Trail– Stories of survival Written By Christine 05/12/2008 click for full size After a brief assessment and stretching conducted by Anastasia, we determined that all of us were robust enough to take on trail A, the most “strenuous” one. That, and the senior lady with a cane sprinting ahead convinced us that we can complete the hike honorably. Complete we did. Found out in the process that bottom can be a practical substitute for the fifth limb all humans should have when trekking down a steep cliff. I can talk about the gorgeous Great Falls, the lush green, and the mighty waters of the Potomac, but the pictures speak for themselves. Thanks everyone for coming! More Photos

Awesome Hike - Thanks! Thanks, Christine & Anastasia for hosting an incredible hike! :) It was definitely a challenging trail, esp. for novices like myself. But I felt a strong sense of accomplishment for being able to make it through the course, even in inclement weather! It was also great seeing both familiar and unfamiliar faces, such as James, who I gave a ride to from the Metro near my house! |
