Taste of Bethesda Written By Mas 10/17/2007 click for full size
So about 10 meeps joined me this year for the annual Taste of Bethesda event. We gorged ourselves from noon to 4 pm, while enjoying the good music and great summer-like weather.
With four streets of food booths, there was something for everyone! And there were clearly some fan favorites, with the crab cakes from McCormick and Schmick's taking top prize. Others include the Indian samosas from Handii, the dumplings from that Thai/Chinese place, and the cannolies from Olazzo. At the bottom of the list was the disappointing paella from Jaleo, which tasted as if it were made with rancid oil (very uncharacteristic for Jaleo, which is typically top notch.) Thanks to all of you who joined me, particularly Cat, who was my co-hostess with the most-est. She was the one who took all the pics. It was fun! See you next year! (I'm already fasting....) Extra special thanks... ... to the Braniac 5th grader who gave us the Fireman hats even though we couldn't answer his quiz question. The kid should be on Jeopardy. |
