Good times! This trip is like a re-union and also great to meet new folks as well. This year I lead a bike ride with 6 other brave souls and had some great milk shakes afterwards. Also the Sat. bonfire was funny with me passing out/sleeping and then getting my second wind and partying with Sammy and his "drinks" Thanks Jamie, Krista, Kevin and everyone else. But seriously what was up with the Mosquitoes this year!!! they were biting crazy Sunday morning. |

Nice week-end! Thank you to Jaimie and all organisers, it was superbly put together! I was still jet-lagged from my flight from London, but the beach was a great place for a good nap to recover! |

Grade A ++ Inspected Memories Having my own "estate" for my tent area Amazing Fire Spinning by Jamie and Kevin (still miss having Ming & Viko on this trip though) In honor of Ari, the pile-up in Dalia's Tent The Bioluminescence in the water on Friday night (why didnt anyone else stay up late?) A multitude amount of bacon for breakfast Swimming to the Sandbar Just sleeeping and recovering from everything on the beach - i.e. getting away from it all & destressing Attacking the Sandcastle with my homemade cannon (using a whiffle ball ?? (I promise next year I will have proper design specs for Cannon V2.0) Couch Surfing (thanks Trey!) and Ali's Bob Costas like narration of the new "sport" Mt. Pirata volcano - honoring all those pirates that have come and gone before us A late night swim in warmer water that didnt freeze peoples &($%#@! off Great conversation over a roaring fire Making new friends, and getting to know others so much better! And a GREAT BIG THANKS to Jaime, Krista, Kevin, and all those others behind the scenes who helped in soooo many different ways to make this an AMAZING trip! |

Thanks! Thanks so much for all your hard work with planning this event. It really paid off. All 100+ campers had a great time thanks to you, Krista and Jamie. I enjoyed meeting so many interesting people from all over. The best part was when you made the fire into a figure 8. That was so cool. It just gets better and better every year. |

Denise I have PONY PICS!!! If you have access to Myspace I have a photo album full of deer, pony, sandcastle, and tent pics. Close to 250. Didn't realize I took that many. LOL So feel free to look www.myspace.com/sweetsouthrngal If you can't access....let me know and I'll try to figure something out. |

assateague 07 Jamie and Krista, thank you both so much for organizing this trip - glad i could finally make it this year! The meals were great and excellently planned, we couldn't have had better weather, loved the porch parties, games and just lounging and escaping from work. Looking forward to assateague 08 (minus the hoardes of mosquitos)! |

Thank you, thank you, Jamie and Krista! What a wonderful and relaxing weekend in a beautiful spot! I had a great time, even if I am still itching and finding sand in stuff... |

i do have more photos but most are for the sand castle post and the night swim one. No pony shots sorry :-( not sure how i missed that. But i am sure Mike or Scott got to have some shots of these. |
![]() Denise |
BTW -- more photos, anyone? My camera died the moment I reached Assateague! Mikey, your pics are awesome...but are there more? Specifically, pony-centric shots? She asked hopefully? |

Sandtastic weekend! I am so impressed that Jamie and Krista can put this event together for so many people and have it go together so well! I had a great time - thanks to Laura for bringing her giant cover and dragging it down to the beach for those of us without umbrellas:) The food was great and the beach was perfect. What a great weekend - can't wait to do it again... though with significantly more bug repellent (the toxic kind) and hopefully without the anxiety of a trial hanging over my head for the next day! |
Erica |
best event ever...again! This was my 2nd trip with Jaime and Krista to Assateague and I have to say it was even more awesome than last year- the perfect summer's end beach trip! =)) |

Thanks All Thanks for a great send off, everyone. Great to get some good memories before I head back to the San Diego crew. Thanks to Kevin for his behind the scenes work and fire whirling! |

What beauty; what fun! This is why I love meetin :) How can so many crazy and creative and passionate people manage to get together in one ridiculous beach adventure? Just a glance at the enthusiasm over the castle defenses, or the numerous examples of pyromania, or the impromptu watermelon seed spitting contest that nearly turned into an olympic sport, or any other of the little adventures that cropped up during this weekend reminds me how lucky we are to have found each other :) (awww...) Thankyouthankyou Jamie and Krista and everyone else who helped put this together! Also, gotta give a shoutout to the denizens of Dalia's tent, and to the midnight swimming society ;) You all rock my world! |

Cheers! Surf, sand, friends and great weather are an unbeatable combination. Thanks Jamie and Krista for an amazing weekend! I can't wait for next year. And Laura, I'm kidnapping Charlie. He's the coolest little dude ever. |

What a blast!!!! I spent an entire year waiting for this event and boy was it worth the wait. I had a wonderful time. Thank you Jamie and Krista for organizing it. I’ll spent an entire year waiting for next year’s camping trip :-) |

so sun burnt I had a great time. I did sleep for at least 12 hours probably more after getting home from this trip. The mosquitoes loved me. That is the first time I ever slept the day away on the beach. Never again. Signed - the girl in the red bikini. |

Wow This came together so well! I still can't get over how well organized this was for a hundred people "roughing it" :) Thanks Jamie and Krista! |

already miss the sound of the ocean waves crashing as i fall asleep. Jamie/Krista, you've outdone yourself once again. Gracias. |

Jealous! Wow- I'm very jealous that I missed it. Last year the horses ate my peanuts ! |

That Was Sandtastic! Despite mosquitoes being everywhere, horses that had a daily hankerin' to snack on our food, and the sun being ever so intent on cooking us, we still managed to fill everything between with From castles that stand up to the sea and pirates, to watermelons that (for the record) fly about 21.5 ft (I paced it out), to horses that not only eat through tents for potato chips (and then, as Denise pointed out, proceed to open the bags) but also move the entire tent fifteen feet just to eat what's under it! Cleaning out my bag, I found a list of regulations and I must say, we violated a majority of those that apply to us. All wheels must remain on pavement (oops) I violated that one in my first few hours there. Tents must be within 30 feet of the grill—quite a few tents voilated that, especially the one snuggled up in the dunes. And there were a number of things I saw hanging on fences, so that's one more down. We of course fed the horses unintentionally, does that count? And finally there aren't very many picnic tables that were not moved. So our total is 9/16 rules broken giving us a 56 for the weekend. Thanks Jamie & Krista for your great organizational skills and I'm hoping things work out for yet another year of beachy horseland goodness. Now to get to work on plotting to fill all 5 of those group sites! |

red hot fun a great time as always. thanks so much jamie and krista for organizing everything and thanks to everyone for pitching in to keep it going (food crews, etc.) and thanks to everyone for keeping the fun going with games and good company. :) and i love how many people got involved with the sand castle! it was a true group effort to battle the sea... and then the cuban pirate. the bonfires were really awesome this year, too. despite getting sunburned and bitten a bunch by bugs, i had a lovely time. :D |
![]() Krista |
I want to go next year! Too bad I was in DC the weekend before this. This camping trip looks awesome. Count me in for next year! |

Love It Many thanks to Jamie, Krista, and Kevin for their time and energy! And many thanks to the midnight swimmers for not trying to ride the horses thereafter: http://www.wtop.com/?nid=598&sid=1227366 Looking forward to seeing everyone again...but without the sand, mosquitoes, and yipping dogs! |

What fun! Even the mosquitos couldn't keep us down this year! So much fun, and the perfect time to catch up with so many friends. S'mores never tasted so good. Plus an education tidbit; ponies can open potato chip bags -- who knew? Thanks so much to Jamie and Krista, who made all their incredibly hard work pre- and post- trip seem effortless. 'Till next year, campers! *g* |
