SOLD OUT: A Prairie Home Companion (Live!) at Wolf Trap
UPDATE: Lawn tickets are sold out. If you really want to go you can check Craiglist or try your luck purchasing a ticket outside the gates.
Return to Lake Wobegon for a spirited evening of stories and music with Garrison Keillor and his warm-hearted sidekicks. This show will be broadcast live on NPR stations and over the internet, so come be a part of history! Shows from previous years have included Broadway star Kristin Chenoweth, bluegrass singer Ralph Stanley (from the O Brother, Where Art Thou?
soundtrack), former Morning Edition
host Bob Edwards, and jazz singer Inga Swearingen.
Please purchase your lawn tickets
as soon as possible! Tickets go on sale April 2. This is an extremely popular show and tickets always sell out well in advance every year. Be sure to purchase lawn seats for the Saturday, May 28 show.
Since this will be a sold-out event, please arrive early so we can grab a decent section on the lawn. There's nothing that irritates other guests more than a few people blocking off a large area for latecomers. I plan to stake out an area at the front of the lawn near the right side (but this may change depending on what's available). Note that it may take 15-30 minutes to park and walk to the Filene Center, so plan your time accordingly.
For Metro riders, there is a shuttle from the West Falls Church station: Wolf Trap Shuttle Bus Express
Please bring something to contribute to a picnic dinner and update your RSVP so we can avoid overlap. Whether you bring Popeye's or wine & cheese, be sure to bring plenty of your own water. Please also bring the following if you have them: blanket, and legless, folding chairs (regular chairs are not allowed on the front lawn), binoculars, poncho and/or umbrella (in case of rain).
