I really enjoy hanging out with my friends and trying out new activities whether is be a sport I never played or a restaurant I've never tried or a band I've never heard. In terms of hobbies, I fenced (sword fighting) for several years and am looking to get back into it. I also play golf and want to put togther some teams for ultimate frisbee or kickball.

Favorite Music
I am not a huge music buff; I can rarely match songs with artists and often mangle the names of songs, but I pretty much enjoy all music from classical to alternative rock to some metal. The only exception is country; can't stand it :)

About Me
I'm a pretty laid-back person in general. I've gotten to the point where I've given up on long-term planning for my life and career and pretty much try to take what comes my way and make the best of it. I never imagined that I would be where I am today or would be running this group, but I'm having the time of my life doing it. If someone wants to go out to do something, I'm the person to call as I rarely prefer staying in over trying out something new or spending time with my friends. Laughter is key to my philosophy on enjoying life; I think it keeps you young and helps you keep things in perspective.

Why I joined
I moved to Chicago last July and didn't know anyone. I probably spent about 2 months basically sitting around my apartment. Finally, I found MeetInChicago on craigslist and joined up. It took a month or so before I got up the courage to go to my first event, but once I went to a happy hour, I became one of the more active members of the group. During the winter, I became increasingly involved with the planning of MeetInChicago events and helped Jason (the leader at the time) with trying to build the MiC community. Since march, I have been the leader of MiC and have worked with the other event leaders to provide a wide variety of events so that members have ample opportunities to make new friends and experience much of what Chicago has to offer. I have to say that MiC has been a great experience as I have made many good friends over the past year and all thanks to the MeetIn community. MeetIn is really something very unique and I'm glad to be a part of it. |

Rik is definitely one of my peeps. He is really funny and just sarcastic enough. :) He's also really easy to talk to. I love his sexy, bald noggin. I wish I could've spent more time w/ you in Vegas, but I'm so glad that I got to meet you! I'll definitely look you up if I'm ever in Chicago, and you've got a place to stay in CA for as long as I'm around these parts. ;)
