Fourth of July Fireworks--North Side
FOURTH OF JULY FIREWORKS--NORTH SIDE
***UPDATE: Plan to meet where Lawrence Avenue gets closest to Lake Michigan before turning south. I'll be there by 6pm. Call me when you arrive and I'll direct you to the group.
***Note: This is an outdoor event, so weather may be a factor. Check for updates on the date. ***
***Note: Driving to this event is NOT recommended. Available parking nearby is likely to be very restricted. Public transportation, bicycle, etc. are all excellent choices. ***
Chicago has changed its fireworks display from July 3 to July 4, and split it into three sites. Fireworks displays will occur up and down Chicago’s 26 miles of lakefront. Beginning at 9pm, 15 minute pyrotechnic displays will light up the sky. The American flavored and themed musical soundtrack can be heard on FM 101.9.
The City of Chicago's Fourth of July fireworks display can be viewed on the North Side from Foster to Montrose. We'll gather north of Montrose Harbor, approximately Lawrence Avenue and Lake Michigan.
The fireworks don't start at 9:00pm, but we'll need to get there pretty early to get a good spot. So let's plan on an evening picnic beforehand! Plan to arrive by 6:00pm, bring food and beverage, and hang out for a few hours with friends before the fireworks begin.
