Event DetailsCome see what was once of Idaho's most popular residences! The Old Idaho Penitentiary served up sweet justice from 1870 to 1973 and is a popular Boise destination. Check out solitary confinement, death row, the gallows, and more. I've never been. I've read that it takes about an hour to see everything. Directions: Heading north on Broadway, turn right at Warm Springs Ave and go 1.4 miles, just past the Trolley House. Turn left at Old Penitentiary Rd. Follow this short road to just about the end and turn left. Follow this road (E Old Penitentiary on Google Maps) as it curves around back to the parking lot, where we'll meet.
