    Why I joined
My Best MEETin event story ( please only fill in after you have been to an event )
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm. I guess my favourite event so far was my birthday! Selfish I know, but what can I say. Everyone was there, the drinks flowed, the food all worked out great. Later on we had shots from the optics (which Eric and Andrea soundly whipped my ass at). We had the Irish sing-a-long in the Living Room, we had DJ Ray playing to a packed hallway, and only 2 glasses were broken the entire night (and I was responsible for one of those, so can't really complain). It was the best party I've been to in Amsterdam! It ruled! Al.

Alan just tipped-me to join this group and considering my high-regard for this man I did not hesitate for one minute!I've known him a while now as I work and perform at The waterhole live-music and pool bar where he is a regular who is loved by all and he makes me proud to be even second generation Irish!

    <-( Gorkem says ;-)
Al = MiAm = Al Well, for me anyway. He's the one that introduced me to the craze and hosted my first ever event (PES5). Such an approachable and fun guy who is always a great company in any occasion. Don't hesitate to talk to him at the next event, but think twice before challenging him for a pool game!!!

Irish people are hard to dislike, and this tall gentleman certainly is no exception to that rule. He has been a fervent and popular member of MeetIn A'dam from the very early beginning and I'm sure that's the way it's going to be for a long while! A barrel of laughs and eager to learn new things all the time - Al is a top guy and we're lucky to have him in the Dam! Next time he's going over to Ireland I'm sure to make it coincide with one of my visits: Dublin still needs to be drunk dry once :)

Alan is a genuine BFIG (Big friendly Irish giant). Quick to order the Cristal (or Coco’s equivalent) to help celebrate the capture of another trophy and full of Irish charm. I look forward to celebrating the 06/07 premiership crown with him! (TBC).

Al is a truly wonderful guy, who I still feel incredibly honoured and lucky to have met. He is kind, amazingly generous, fun, sociable, very intelligent, a great fountain of knowledge, a mad Liverpool supporter, a superstar pool player, and most importantly - honest, genuine and trustworthy. Al, you made my decision to stay in Amsterdam infinitely easier.

    <-( Lira says ;-)
QUALITY – that is the first word that comes to mind when I think of Al. He is one of the most genuine, intelligent, easy-going people I know. You know you’ve met a great guy when everyone claims to be one of his oldest and best friends. Al looks out for all his friends and his generosity is beyond measure! Quality, baby, quality…

    <-( Martin says ;-)
There is no bad word to say about Alan! He is nice, friendly to everyone and has always a smile on his face. Especially I appreciate his will to let everything go for a beer and football. Simply a great guy!

    <-( Eric says ;-)
Alan's a great guy who almost has the same birthday as I do! He was brave enough to invite a bunch of strange people from the internet over to his fabulous apartment before MiA was much of anything. He's always got a smile and is up for a good time.

    <-( Thomas says ;-)
Alan is always smiling and is guaranteed to put a smile on your face. Coincidently he is a very interesting tip top bloke.

    <-( Siobhan says ;-)
Alan is the best friend a girl could hope for! He's generous, caring and makes me laugh with terrible penguin jokes even when I'm trying my best to be in a bad mood. Even when I think I have him sussed he continues to surprise me. Thanks for being you! xx

    <-( NickNL says ;-)
A great organiser of any excuse to watch football, play pool and drink copious amounts of beer doing it. What more could you want from a mate (I just hope my liver survives the experience). Al is a great man, we're glad he lives in Amsterdam.

    <-( Mili says ;-)
Well what can I say.... it has being so nice to meet him, Al is so friendly, funny, easygoing, etc. You can have always a great time when you meet him, he is always open to meet new friends and making us feeling so well in the meetings.

    <-( Caroline says ;-)
Al manages what so few of us can: at all times being a thorougly nice person while still being interesting, witty and a good laugh. A great host and participater, welcoming and generous, he made both my first event and many events after that a lovely experience.

    <-( charlotte says ;-)
Alan, you were the first person I met through MEETIN and you made me feel welcome from the start. You give out good vibes and are very friendly. Thank you and thanks for providing a lovely chilled out Sunday yesterday!

    <-( Sandeep says ;-)
'Big' Al, as he is affectionately known (I'm not that close !!) is known for his love of pool, beer, football, good times and dressing up. How can you not like him? He is known to throw a mean party for all occassions and can always be relied upon to have a blast, whatever the day or whatever the time. You'll be hard pushed to find a better person to hang out with.

    <-( GJ says ;-)
Alan is an absolute riot (minus the cops and dogs and stuff). This fella will have you in a good mood in no time, cook you a meal, buy you a drink, and if youre lucky, introduce you to one of his sheep. And since Al is eight feet tall, he's also easy to find in a crowd.

    <-( Paul says ;-)
Al is easily one of nicest, easy-going guys I’ve ever met. He’s generous to a fault and is always up for one more beer. All of the good nights out in Amsterdam involve him. In fact, the Last Waterhole would be out of business without him. He’s got a good sense of humour and a disgraceful tendency to take photos of you when you’re passed out. Still though, he’s a good guy, so get to know him if you can.

    <-( Nassia says ;-)
Alan is what I would call a quiet intellectual with a heart of gold and a free spirit filled with musical notes. Always encouraging and available for a game of pool coupled by few beers. Cheers Al

    <-( Victor says ;-)
Al is really a great guy, I don’t have too much word to explain who Al is, than saying once again, and he is a great man. I think you have to get in touch with him, and then you know what I mean, when I say this guy is a great man. I first meet him during his birthday party, you can believe it, and he accepted me to come in for his birthday party, even when he didn't know whom I was. He treats me as if he knows me very long time ago, oh it wonderful; I have never seen somebody like this man in my whole life. Thanks a lot Al, I’m very happy to meet you, hope and wish to spend more time with you and also to know you more and more! Love and respect!!! Peace.

    <-( Sarah says ;-)
Al makes me smile every time I see him:) He gives off "genuine good guy" vibes all the time and makes any event more gezellig! So glad to have met him:)
